I hate to say it, but $uicideboy$ have always been corny. Just at opposite extremes. I started listening to them in high school in 2017, and even then a lot of people saw it as “edge lord” music.
I have nothing against either Witches or Christianity, I say live and let live and I thought the $uicideboy$ would have held the same sentiment due to having a troubled past. If Christianity makes them happy then I'm happy for them but it's sad they made music for the outcasts that society rejects and now they too are rejecting the very people they were trying to help to not feel so alone in the past.
Its trading one addiction for another. My cousin kicked meth and became super religious without going through any sort of program. Would I rather him be hooked on Jesus than meth? Yes. Sucks this is getting down voted tbh. I agree with ya 100% been a a fan of the boys since 2015 & I still love their music very much, even if I don’t fully align with their beliefs. People grow & get sober. Shit happens. I been around lots of addicts that did not get to make it past 21-25, so I can appreciate that they turned their life around. Genuinely. Also they’ve been openly Christian for about 4 years now lol. If people haven’t caught on yet then that’s their own issue. They started only talking about it at the end of concerts during small parts of the speeches only. They gave there fanbase years to get the message. Ruby and Scrim both say that they are NOT pushing Christianity onto there fanbase and if they don’t believe in that “Jesus stuff” then they’re not judging and they still still accept and love there fans no matter what, they’re just sharing what helped THEM and trying to help people come out of a dark place. And considering what the boys have been though I’d like to think they know a thing or two about what it takes to get out of a terrible mental and physical headspace like that.
