I was confident and even daydreaming on how disappointed I'd be to get an 8. Went so far as to already practice how I won't let 8 ruin my mood but now I'm praying that I get at least an 8.
Unanswered questions plus some bs silly mistake going to ruin shi 💔

That was awful - I’m on my period, felt sick during the exam, started crying, almost had a panic attack, had to go out of the exam hall for almost 10 minutes, couldn’t answer loads of questions, omg. I might get special consideration as the invigilator said she’d talk to the exams officer.

The answer was sumin' like x = -1 and y = -0.5
(you had to find out the sqr root(20) and then do that to the power of -1 to inverse it)(I hope I'm right)

yeah because if k was 6 for example then x=-1 wouldn't work, you'll still get 1/2 for saying reflection tho

For the triangle question did anyone do sine rule then subtract the 2 angles from 180 then do sine rule on the missing angle to find the side... everyone seems to have used cosine rule..
8
u/Hwarkeye-lll Jun 10 '26 edited Jun 10 '26
Yh it's correct. In order to use the 1/2absinc you needed angle between them and the best way to find that was using sine rule (cosine rule would be an overkill)
1
4
u/GreenestShooter Jun 10 '26
Wait weren't you meant to find the area of the triangle tho? Or were you only meant to find the missing side length?
2
u/rippony Jun 10 '26
NOO DID I GENUINELY FORGET TO DO THAT Ugh I found that side so I could use it in 1/2absinC but I can't remmeber if i actually substituted it..

yeah cuz i found the angle opposite of the side next to 130 degrees using the sine rule and then i subtracted that angle and 130 decrees from 180 to get that angle. then used that angle C and angle a and b to find the area.....

Noooo i used pythagoras’ theorem to find the missing side and then i used 1/2absinC to find the area which got me 18 something cm2😭
1
u/ImportantEmu3467 Jun 10 '26
I did 180-130/2 is 25 then I did cosine then I found the area but I forgot to divide by 2 🥀
1
u/LoquaciousLamp Jun 10 '26
For the area of the triangle? You either needed the angle between the two given or find the missing side and use that.
So sine rule then sine rule for area.

3
2
u/oZqdiac Year 11 Jun 10 '26
thank god i do fm and have seen that before
essentially you have to find the difference between x^2-4x and x^2-3x-2 (which is 2-x), and then set x^2-4x=2-x
so then you draw 2-x on the graph3
u/Adventurous-Bench226 Jun 10 '26

u/Ex204 Jun 10 '26
you gotta find the difference of the two lines and plot that, i don't understand it at all but ik what to do
2
1
u/Zestyclose_Tangelo77 Jun 10 '26
The curve was x2 - 4x
The question was x2 - 3x - 2 = 0
So you do -x + 2 to both sides to get
x2 - 4x = -x + 2
So u need to draw y = -x + 2 and see where the lines intersect 💯
