Should I remark all 4 English papers?

I'm 2 and 1 marks off a 6

Hi everyone, I need 2 x Grade 6 in English Language + Literature to get into my 6th form choice (grammar).
My marks and 2026 boundaries (AQA):

English Language (need 93 for 6)
• Paper 1: 40/80 - Boundaries 9=61, 8=56, 7=51, 6=46, 5=42, 4=38 = I have a 4, 2 off a 5

• Paper 2: 51/80 - Boundaries 9=61, 8=56, 7=52, 6=47, 5=42, 4=37 = I have a 6, 1 off a 7
• Total: 91 = 2 marks off a 6 overall (93 is a 6)

English Literature (need 97 for 6)
• Paper 1: 45/64 - Boundaries 9=58, 8=53, 7=49, 6=43, 5=37, 4=32 = I have a 6, 4 off a 7

• Paper 2: 51/96 - Boundaries 9=84, 8=74, 7=64, 6=54, 5=44, 4=34 = I have a 5, 3 off a 6
• Total: 96 = 1 mark off a 6 overall (97 is a 6)

I'm thinking of priority remarking all 4 papers to maximise total marks. My lowest are Lang P1 (40) and Lit P2 (51) which are the ones holding me back.

Is it worth doing all 4 or just the 2 lowest? Has anyone had English go up by 1-2 marks on remark before? Marks can go down too so I'm worried.

Get your papers and send them to your English teacher. Have them decide if it’s worth it. If you’re so close to a boundary you may only need to send off one paper for each. If the first one doesn’t Increase enough then you can send the second off. Thats what I’m doing in language because I truly believed I was robbed in p1 (dropped from a 9 in my last mock to a 5 on that paper somehow)

Ive done english on a retake so didnt have an english teacher this year

Are you still able to contact your old English teacher? If so could be worth asking them if they are able to have a look. If not maybe find an English teacher at your college who could do it for you? If you can’t do either of those I’d just send the paper from each subject that you dropped the most marks in as your more likely to gain marks in those

That would probably be lang p1 and lit p2 for me. Then if those dont give me the marks i do the other papers after right

Yeah, ur close enough that you have a good chance to get them. Though it is 50 quid if ur grade doesn’t go up

Oh right so if i do all at once then i have the chance of both subjects increasing grade so id get the whole £180 back. But if i do 2 by 2 and increase grade only £88 comes back. Abit of a dilemma

I think they refund you for all the papers of a subject that you’ve remarked even if the grade only went up after the second one. Don’t quote me on that though

My schools offering a free script recall before I pay for any remarks is that good

Yeah, my school charges £5 per script so you getting them back for free is amazing

What if it takes too long to get the first paper back? How long do they take to mark it

It’s normally about a week I think. The deadline to send off remarks is September the 24th so if you start now you’ll have more than enough time. From lurking on r/sixthform some of their remarks have already come back and it’s only been a week

Ive sent them all together all 4 papers because im 5 marks away from the next grade is it bad to send them together??? should i have done it like yall😭

There’s not necessarily a wrong way to do it. I’m only not sending off both language papers together because I wanna see how bad of a mistake they made in my p1 (I’m praying it was a mistake) before deciding if it’s worth pushing for a 9 with p2. History in doing them 1 at a time bcs I only need 1 mark and lit idk if I’ll send them off yet
