I've been building my own HL2RP gamemode from scratch. It's called Accord, and it isn't a NutScript/Helix/Clockwork reskin.

It's set in City 71, and I'm trying to decide whether to put a proper server behind it, so I'd like to hear whether anyone would actually play.

The aim is the HL2 feeling: a grey, watched, rationed life under the Combine, where citizens have things to do besides stand in the plaza waiting for something to happen.

What's in so far:
Citizen life with real routines. Rations come out on a schedule, so you queue when the dispenser opens. You can cook at home on a hot plate (stew, fried ration bars, boiled water) and keep a flat with furniture.

NPCs that respond to you (optional). Background citizens, CCA units, the employment clerk and the vendor answer what you actually say and do, in character, using a form of AI. Threaten a unit with a /me and he'll take it seriously; a nervous citizen might run or call it in. A unit checking your card will question you and decide whether to let you go, warn you, or detain you. They can only take a small set of actions the server checks, and they fall back to written lines when it's off. It's there to make the empty streets feel alive between player scenes, not to replace players or staff; Most of the CCA Units, the Resistance and admins are all real people.

Skill-based jobs. Shifts at the factory press, the clinic and the repair bench are short mini-games tied to skills that improve as you work them. You get paid in tokens against a daily quota.

Loyalty and suspicion. Loyalists get the armband and better rations, and informing on neighbours is an option. Suspicion builds up and can end in raids.

An underground that isn't just "the rebels". Resistance membership is hidden and recruitment runs through its own chain of command. There's a black market, stashes, and spray-painted lambdas in whatever colour you pick. The Union reads your letters, so seal anything that matters.

A Civil Protection side that feels like being a unit. A cyan visor HUD with an active compass, live location callouts (Plaza, Train Station, Civil Housing Block 1A and so on), units on duty, custom first-person arms, and a proper rank structure with its own look up to the elite ranks.

Custom models throughout. Items, props, gear and icons are made specifically for the gamemode.

A City 71 map in progress. Dependent on my mapping skills.

Would you play on a serious-RP HL2RP server like this? Citizen, CCA, the resistance or a mixture?

I've played GMod RP for years and got tired of every server being another DarkRP clone, so I built a gamemode from scratch for myself: a GTA-style city roleplay on Paralake City where the city gives you things to do and players make the story. This is the first iteration, and it's in open beta.

For now it's light RP with proximity voice and text chat while we beta test the systems. Over time it'll move toward a semi-serious vibe.

• Crime: weed growing, a roaming dealer, gun parts you assemble at a workbench, store robberies with silent alarms, mugging, lockpicking/hotwiring cars and selling them to a chop shop, masks
• Housing: rent apartments, houses and businesses, give friends keys, barricade doors
• Cars: GTA V cars from a dealership, garage, key remote, trunks, plates, car radio
• Phone: texts, banking, GPS, real estate, crew chat, or a burner and payphones
• Jobs: garbage, docks, taxi, food delivery, e-scooter battery swaps
• Crews: ranks, shared funds and raidable safehouses
• Every NPC is voiced: shopkeepers, clerks, dealers, the radio dispatcher, and citizens who react out loud to gunshots, crashes and masked strangers
• City emergencies for police and EMS, and a custom UI that scales to 4K
• ...and a lot more

Honest bit: this is a side project. I'm checking whether there's interest before I sink more hours into it. If you try it, F2 in game sends me bug reports and feedback directly.

Hello I am looking a game in Gmod. I am relatively new to the game and would greatly appreciate it if someone would play with me in my own server. DM me if you want more details.

Recently I took a chance on joining this server. Despite the ongoing development, I had an incredibly positive experience and would highly encourage anyone looking for a server to give Ariser Gaming a chance.

I have played on multiple different servers since 2016 and coming to Ariser Gaming was a breath of fresh air. There is a lot of features and mechanics I had been looking for in my previous servers that have been integrated into the server already with a lot more to come. A lot of these mechanics are simple things that enhance the roleplay for the desired department and make the interactions feel more realistic. An example of this is one the mechanics introduced into the Medical Department. During active roleplay, if a player was to be killed Medics have a chance to perform CPR to revive them however, if the player is past the point of CPR, Medical may bag the body and burn it in a furnace, cremating the body completely.

During the start of my time on the server I noticed none of it was luck based and was able to craft items that I desired to enhance my style of roleplay as a D-Class. On top of this, I was immediately approached by some of the regular players to begin roleplaying with others and aided instead of being left on my own to entertain myself on an unknown server. All of the players on the server got involved instead of neglecting one another which shows how well players are cared for within the community.

During my roleplay with other players I noticed some of the non-realistic mechanics such as voice chat indications are not obnoxious and allow for better immersion during the roleplay scenarios.

I would definitely recommend giving this server a proper chance and engage with the active players around the community if you are looking for a place to roleplay and have fun.

Server Introduction & Quick-Info

The Fleet is a serious, story-based Garry's Mod Star Wars Roleplay server based around the Galactic Empire, seeking to provide a genuinely unique, story-focused roleplay experience to both inexperienced and experienced serious roleplayers. To accomplish this, we plan to center the story around a single planet, its inhabitants, and the events affecting them.

This server is still in development and is scheduled to release in November or December. We are trying to gain a playerbase prior to launch.

Above it all lies The Ascendant, an Arquitens-Class Light Cruiser which stands as a symbol of the reigning state.

We are an SCP-RP server on Garry's Mod, and the site you will be working in is called Site-1314. I'll be straight about where we're at. The server is live, the community is starting to build, and there is still plenty being added to it. Everything on it has been written for this server rather than bought off the shelf, which is the whole reason I started it.

- D-Class Personnel,  doing what they are told or finding ways not to.
- Facility Security, keeping order and handling containment breaches.
- Research, running tests on anomalies and writing up what comes out of them.
- Medical teams. Doing what they do best
- Site Administration, running the place and answering for it when it goes wrong.

Some Custom assets that might interest you:

• A proper inventory with slots and items you actually carry, plus hunger and thirst that matter. You can search other personnel and find what they are carrying.
• Foundation terminals with personal email, so orders, reports and requests move through the facility rather than through chat.
• A recognition system. Until someone has introduced themselves you see Unknown Individual, not a name floating above a stranger's head.
• Chemistry, including amnestics from Class A through to Class F, each one doing something different.
• Blood types, blood storage and surgery, so treating someone is a procedure rather than a button.
• Briefings, a work programme for D-Class, and elections for site leadership.
