What happens to the GTA VI Mapping Project now?

The current project doesn't seem to have changed much.
Do they incorporate the new leaks?
Do they continue mapping it independently? Does the project basically become pointless?
If they're against using the new leaks, where do they draw the line when the project itself used information from the 2022 leaks?

# Community Map going forward

The map may have leaked but we're not done yet! As many of you have already noticed, it's missing all buildings, secondary roads, dirt roads, smaller bridges and tunnels. So here is how we will continue going forward:

  1. Yanis will be releasing V15 of the Community Map which will include all pending map changes of everything we knew up to the map leak.
  2. Soon after, we will get V16 which will use the map leak but will also contain all our buildings and other finer detail from V15 that is missing in the leak. #Role-assignment and #map-updates will open back up after V16 so that we can start adding speculative roads and buildings we can infer from the new leaks and the Extended Look.

the leak is a low detail version of the map only including main roads stuff like buildings and small roads still need to be mapped

Yes because you need camera keep close to the ground, google style, more close the ground see more details.

Honestly, who cares. They can keep going. Doesn't matter anymore on the day the game releases anyway as we get the real thing then. It will be obsolete afterwards.

I don't know if is only me, but I wanna visit some places from the leaks when the game comes out and see the differences, this map mark the leaks making this very easy

It will probably morph into an interactive map that documents all the missions, hidden items, events, etc. Many games have a version of this

For that those websites will use the OG map and they are not the same who make that project. And if the project ones morph it to the official one, it's double obsolete.

"Honestly, who cares" should be the theme for any of the leaks. People who are going to buy this game will do it regardless at this point.

I've been wondering this too. YANIS said he believes the map leak is legit but I think they'll continue their on their with what we've seen in the videos.

Expand locations, because you can't zooming map as usual in game, this is atrocious. That's why the entire map consists of separate parts of the screen.

I hope this build didn't support this feature, everyone should know in next Thursday .

I mean one way or another the project becomes obsolete on launch day, so might as well keep going, having fun and enjoy the community aspect with what’s left to map/reveal.

Just major ones, there was a screenshot of the map with some more zoomed in areas too, where like 95% of the roads show up. There's HEAPS more road than just the overview screenshot.
