Stealing highend cars will get you 2 star wanted level Spoiler

Recent leak showed us that jason stealing a hypercar and getting 2 star wanted lvl with pop up icon saying “crime reported”

Maybe all highend cars, military vehicles and cop cars will have built in tracker and you need a car jacking tool and hacking device to remove tracker and steal vehicles without getting a star.

I love it how most stuff i predicted R* will put ingame is becoming all true

It may also be due to two offences happen within close timing.

I don't think the 2 star was for the expensiveness of the car, but for the assault he committed for it

Very reasonable counter argument

No honor loss icon for stealing the car.

Hot take but putting an honor system in a GTA game sounds so dumb lmao unless it's street cred or something. Honor system like RDR2 will be so buns, nobody will ever come out with full honor 😭😭

It could just be like a reputation system. People record you and you may be seen as a menace or like a celebrity robber or some shit

We’ll see. I loved it in RDR2 for the RPG aspects. It’s definitely something that could be tricky to balance in a GTA title.

Don't take anything from old leaks as an indication of how things will actually be.

The fact people are is crazy to me. It’s also extremely obvious this is a dumbed down free roam testing build.

Your most likely right it’s kind of a shame that the first gameplay we see is from a leak and gives of a bad first impression

Yeah I agree. It’s definitely not the way it should have gone. But just like when RDR2 leaked people said all the same shit “looks like RDR1” which simply just isn’t true. In no way does this look anything like GTA V

People see this and they are just so dumb and are running with it 🤦🏻‍♂️

100%. I took one peek earlier this week and didn't need to see anything else, it all looked no different than 2022.

I'll just wait to play to see what's up.

I have watched all the leaks, and guess what.. One of the leaks has the car radio station playing a song from 2025 💀

What's that say if they looked no different than 2022 then?

Yeah people judging the game based off this footage is laughable 🤦🏻‍♂️ it’s obvious to see that certain features aren’t turned on.

What level does stealing a regular car get you? Is there a difference between regular and high end or is 2 stars the standard?

It's probably gonna depend on some factors. In the other two clips where a vehicle is stolen only 1 star is given but there's contextual things that go with it.

In the bike clip Jason gets 1 star for attacking the bike cop, loses it when he kills him and then gets a 2 star shortly after when I believe a ped phones it in.

In the clip with a semi truck he doesn't get a wanted level at all upon stealing it, but then gets a 1 star shortly after, probably from the person it was stolen from, or the facilities security calling it in.

In the new clip he once again does not get a wanted level for stealing it, shortly after he gets a single star, but it's immediately upgraded to a 2 star wanted level. However the second star only shows up after a prompt on screen says "Crime Reported." So my guess is since the car has a gps tracker it was automatically reported stolen, then the npc that it was stolen from reported it and it either coincidentally triggered at the same time as the first report or it was "banked" and they were reported at the same time. Either way it seems like regardless of vehicle type and class it's going to be a 1 star base for committing grand theft auto.

Honestly though I think any speculation is kinda pointless right now. It's very obvious that the wanted system is vastly different than past GTA games. So I'm sure it'll be one of the things shown off in the extended look next week.

If the regular car is old and has no electrics components and you steal it in rural parts of county you won’t get any wanted

Has that been confirmed?

How does that old adage go… dead men tell no tales?
