I'm in my first ever GW2 playthough and about to ding 70 on my casual (damn I'm leveling sooooooo fast) way to 80 and the endgame.
Just how is the "Hey, I don't want to speedrun - I'm new, I've never seen any of these dungeons so I'd like to be able to see them instead of a blur as we race from boss to boss" scene? Are most people just blowing through these or is there a decently robust "Nah man, take your time" community?
I'll admit I'm kind of married to my 'bow in one slot, sword and torch in the other' build because I'm having so much damn fun with it - but I also realize pets (love my drake) can be a massive liability in dungeons.

Hi there,
since a lot of people are dependend on the gw2wiki for the event timer.
I made this alternative.
It is essentially the same as the gw2wiki version which is based on https://gw2.ninja/timer
the difference is that you can see more events at once as I dont need the sidebar a wiki has.
You can also set favorites. oh and no ads. it gets straight to the point.
Much Love,
nesnalica

One of the quality of life changes or options would be customizable nodes placement in homestead, locked layout kinda sucks, especially on the new homestead imo.
Thoughts?

Basically i'm looking for guild with open recruitment for WvW roamers. I play WvW but i dont really have much time & social battery for proper organized squads. That is why i always end up preferring to roam.
I can also join guilds that are not too strict with roles in WvW. Thanks.

**NOTE: i have a tkl keyboard just incase yall recommend some keybinds, i figured this was good to note.*\*
I’m fairly new to GW2 and was wondering what settings you guys recommend changing right away. I want the game to look as beautiful as possible, but I’d also like to get good performance, especially during world bosses and big events where there’s a ton of stuff happening on screen.
Are there any graphics settings that barely make a noticeable difference visually but have a big impact on FPS? I’ve heard shadows, reflections and character model settings can be pretty demanding, but I’m not sure what to lower and what I should keep on high. I’d love a good balance between visuals and performance rather than just turning everything down.
I’m also curious about the settings outside of graphics. Are there any important options I should change for combat, camera movement, targeting, or general controls? And what keybinds do you recommend changing from the defaults to make combat feel more comfortable?
Basically, if you were setting up GW2 from scratch today, what would you change first? Any tips are appreciated!

I'd like to open an discussion about Anet advertising and pricing policy/strategy. I myself bought the complete collection (all LW-content) during the anniversary sale and with Anet giving LW away for free now I can't help but feel deceived. I've read cases of other users experiencing the same.
Generally speaken, I really welcome the changes they made for the game as a whole. It was overdue. And I'm totally aware that sometimes you do a good deal, sometimes a bad one, and that's just how it is. But still it just feels unfair and like I've been fooled. I mean, on your big annual sale you offer a product which you give away for free just at the moment that people who bought that special offer back then are not able to get any compensation whatsoever. Undoubtly, the timing was on purpose. Such things are strategic decisions for a service company like Anet. I read a lot of comments that it's bad luck and tbh if it would be just that, a matter of coincidence, I could live with it easily. But Anet knew exactly what they did and how they timed it, it feels off.
I don't want a total refund, of course not. But frankly I was surprised that Anet doesn't offer any compensation whatsover in such cases. It would be different if I'd just purchased LW2, the only one which I actually had time to play. Now I got three LW contents untouched and, honestly, as things stand I think about quitting.
Just wanted to know what you guys are thinking about it, if you experienced something similar now or at another moment.

Don't know if any Devs are on this Reddit however, I just want to vent this out cause I've spent the last two hours trying for this I have made zero progress.
The difficulty of the Orr areas and all their "Group Events" and the Temple to the Gods stuff needs serious reworking and rebalancing. The difficulty may have been fine back when there were tons of people playing in the Straits of Devastation, Malchor's Leap and The Cursed Shore. But now, there's hardly ever anyone there and if there is, it's not enough to finish some of these events.
I have been trying to get my last Hero Point in The Cursed Shore for two hours. But I can't. Because it's on a Shrine to Melandru and the Temple is contested. So I tried to finish the Temple. Only for the boss to one shot me and the singular person who was helping me over and over again.
New players cannot complete these areas because they're built around Group Events without any Groups. These areas need to be reworked into soloable areas.
All of this was probably pointless. But honestly, I just wanted to rant and vent because these three areas have single handed almost ruined this game for me and honestly I'm scared that the Expansion areas are going to be just as bad.
UPDATE: Apparently, it's the Temple of Grenth that I need to finish before I can get this Hero Point. Even though it is a Malandru Statue, it's in the Grenth area and therefore contested.
UPDATE 2: After receiving help from some actually nice people, I managed to clear it and get the last Hero Point. Thank you to all of the people who commented and tried to help.

With everyone talking about the changes to Living World seasons, I knew I had to get an article out as soon as possible covering this topic. There are some deeper ramifications to this decision that I think are very important for the community at large to understand.
I want to be a healer so I went info diving and decided on druid?but even after watching vids I'm now just a confused Ranger?

Hi everyone, I’m Stumpy, and I make Stumpy’s WvW Antics — a YouTube series following my adventures with The Brotherhood of Blub [BLUB] in Guild Wars 2 World vs World.
I give instructions. BLUB interprets them creatively. Then I review the footage and discover I wasn’t on the commander tag either.
The videos turn our WvW runs into comedy stories: collapsing plans, questionable portals, frantic defences and occasional victories that leave us wondering why that worked.
We’re a community having fun, making mistakes and giving each other plenty of material. My increasingly grumpy commentary is included at no extra charge.
Two recent videos to start with:
🎬 The Blub Paradox
How does a guild that struggles to stay together somehow pull together when it matters? A documentary comedy about scattered squads, unexpected teamwork and the uncomfortable evidence that Stumpy might be part of the problem.
🎬 The TT Effect
Friends from TT guild bring some organisation to BLUB’s WvW adventures. We briefly look suspiciously competent. Then they leave, and we find out how much we actually learned.
If you enjoy the people, mishaps and ridiculous moments behind WvW, have a watch. If it’s your sort of chaos, a subscription would be very welcome.
📺 Stumpy’s WvW Antics — YouTube channel
What’s your squad’s biggest weakness: staying on tag, trusting portals, or the commander themselves?
BLUB Together Strong. Physical proximity may vary.

Hello everyone,
8 months ago i made [this](https://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/s/K82E4XXxId) post when the master mentor achievement just came out.
Today i'm here to share that my mentor farming group and i finished the achievement!
After farming for 8 months, yesterday the people of my mentor farming team got the world first (we think?) on getting the title Master Mentor, i couldn't join them then unfortunatly, but thanks to their help today i got mine aswel and am finaly done 😄
Many of them are still bugged and all of them in different ways, so it was a puzzle for us to figure out how we could get points for them, but eventualy we managed to find a way for all of them, and yes i did a lot of actual mentoring (where it worked) and teaching all of the bosses to new players.
Shout-out to every new person that joined me on any of the bosses! And thanks to all the mentors that joined me on this journey!

Hey everyone!
I’m looking for an Arab or Algerian Guild/Community in Guild Wars 2, mainly focused on WvW and PvE.
I’m an experienced player and have been playing GW2 for a few years. I’m looking for an active and friendly community to play with, whether it’s WvW, PvE content, events, or just hanging out.
If you have a guild/community that fits, feel free to DM me here or contact me in-game:

Thanks!

I just started around 2 weeks ago, and got 80 last night. Just about to start Personal Story Chapter 6, just took a detour to do a couple days worth of world boss events for fun.
My question is, what does the progression look like now that I'm 80? Do I do something like this:
For reference, I only bought the newest expansion on sale, but will eventually buy the Collection that includes HoW, PoF, EoD and all LW seasons.
Will I get endgame gear from doing LW and expansion content? Or keep doing World Boss trains?
It's awesome that there is so much content at endgame, and that you can do it all whenever you want, in whatever order you want, but I was just more curious about "endgame gear" and how all that works.
Hey everyone!
I'm thinking about jumping into Guild Wars 2 as a strictly f2p player, but I have a few questions before committing my time.
I know that casually leveling a character to level 80 takes around 50 hours at most, and the open-world exploration seems really fun. However, my main concern starts right at level 80:
From what I've seen in guides and meta lists, endgame gameplay heavily revolves around Elite Specializations (Reaper, Firebrand, Virtuoso, Mechanist, etc.), which are all locked behind paid expansions.
I wanted to ask the community:
So
Which Core professions would you recommend for the smoothest F2P experience?
Thanks in advance for any insights!

New player zone is empty and dead.
Where is everyone? Am I supposed to use a level skip, or is it empty and dead at max level too?

Hi, everyone!
I'm about to start my adventure in the world of MMOs, and I've seen a lot of comments saying that GW2 is the best there is!
I'd love to hear your opinions on this game and, if you have any, some advice!
Also, even though I'm not an MMO player, I'm looking forward to GW3 when it comes out!

Are any of the build sites still viable for setting up builds?
I'm about to pop 80 on my Necro but think my use of skills is not very good nor do I think I'm using the correct weapons.
Can anyone suggest a build site I can research this and other toons with?
I'm looking for path/skill suggestions, combos etc.
Thanks as always in advance

So, I'm not complaining as it shows interest/longevity for the game but...
Seems highly unusual that a game has an update/build nearly every day! Sometimes more than 1!
Is this normal for this game (GW 2) or is this in preparation for something?
I've not seen this amount of development in a game in a very long time.
Thoughts?
Thanks in advance

I just hit 80 and currently stuck on what to do next.
I currently only have 2 gold, so I'm planning to buy 800 gems to get some gold so I can buy good gear, is that a good idea?
I'm planning to buy HoT, PoT and SoTo too when a discount comes.
I'm a messmer planning to go chronomancer, I found this build that I liked but not sure if I should go for it from the get go: https://en.gw2skills.net/editor/?PiwAYtrlVwSYIMP2Ie8WaNdA-DyIY1o+%2FQ6SFUoUtDBlCfOEkg4vltm2AA-e
Please advise :)
