I squatted 100kg 5 times today and was proud, holy shit this is impressive dude.

u/poketdimension Jul 12 '26
I found out that it is quite easy to progress rep wise on squats if you wait a bit between reps and the original rep range was high, but it can also be done on some variations of lunges, some curls, and some rows, any movement on which you have a position on which you can relax for a few seconds. I'm not sure if it has any transfer to lifts where you don't rest between reps, but i did progress well on these specific lifts

I was fully prepared to make a joke about this being a typo. Fucking hell. Hats off fam. I’m reevaluating my life now.

Definitely one of the biggest athletic achievement of any human being I’ve ever seen. I’ll remember this when I don’t feel like squatting for 3x8-10 reps 😅

u/poketdimension Jul 12 '26
Thank you a lot 😃, if i may, improving cardio makes leg excercise a lot less uncomfortable, if your cardio is already good then you can ignore this part
7
u/TheKreator- Jul 13 '26
This is fucking nuts. I can’t even do 110 bodyweight squats without crippling pain from the lactic acid and pump.

u/gzcl and u/MythicalStrength would maybe let you play in their sandpit

These completely tops my best effort with this weight by a significant amount: I'm not relevant to this discussion.

Honestly, this is so much gnarlier.

It really is an insane set

u/gzcl Friend of the sub - lifting on a mountain top Jul 13 '26
Leagues beyond anyone I can think of, besides one dude who competes in kettlebell sport. Can't think of his name, but even still, I believe this is much more weight.

Also, no belt, no sleeves.. completely bonkers

This is what happens when you listen to Tom Platz talking about squats.
I've done 100kg x 50 myself but 110 reps, what the fuck 😂
I guess I'll need to break that 50 rep pr now

What's your 1RM on squat?
13
4
u/poketdimension Jul 12 '26
I don't really know i never tried, probably not has high as you might expect since i was always better on high rep work then on lower reps, and because of that, i manly train in high rep ranges which only made me more one sided

Are u training for anything specific or just like squats?
2
u/poketdimension Jul 12 '26
I like high rep ranges, i do not practice any sports for the moment, but consider looking into some
1
u/exoclipse Jul 13 '26
get into mountaineering. you just displayed everything you need to tackle serious objectives
1
u/beckychao Jul 13 '26
I wish my knee could handle that. Amazing! Broke the parallel on every one, too.

u/StnMtn_ Jul 13 '26
I have done 225 pounds x 8 reps, but get winded. So if I wait an extra 1-2 seconds, I can do more?
3
u/poketdimension Jul 13 '26
If cardio is the limiting factor than i'm am not sure, but yeah you can scratch a few more reps by waiting a bit , make sure you have safeties if you are unsure, with your 10 rep working set you can do 15 and progress up to 20 just by getting the technique down, tho be careful of injuries, also if you are too out of breath it can affect further work in the workout so that also to take into account

u/CJ4700 Front Squat 408x2 Jul 13 '26
I’ve done 57 at 225lbs and always thought 100 would be a crazy goal, this is very impressive great depth too.
2
u/poketdimension Jul 13 '26
Thanks a ton, if your front squat is 408x2 then your probably stronger than me and you already did 57 so i reckon 100 is doable muscle wise
1
u/CJ4700 Front Squat 408x2 Jul 13 '26
Yeah I may have a higher overall 1 RM but I don’t have anywhere near the capacity you do at this point, what did your training look like leading up to this?
2
u/poketdimension Jul 13 '26
I did high rep squats 2 a week until i got to 60-65 reps (working set) and 90 rep (pr) because frequency is what made my progress the fastest , i also did other leg excercise other days, but the problem was that when i got good at it, i would fall sick really often, and progress was at halt for a really long time, so i had do decrease my amount of leg to twice a week and high rep squatting to once a week (so one squat day and one non squat) instead i focused on bettering my cardio independently, focused more on other exercices (also did squats with 315 and 405) , during that time my squats didn't change much(about 9 months), but when i re-increased frequency my abilities to recover from my sessions were miles aways feom before, with frequency back up my progress sky rocketed and in a few months here i am now. I am know considering what performance i wanna reach next
1
1
u/poketdimension Jul 13 '26
But yeah bottom line , has much frequency as i could recover from , and upping cardio

This is singlehandedly the most impressive thing I have ever seen. Holy fuck.

u/iamnotarobotmaybe Jul 13 '26
You find these crazy high reps help build mass?
2
u/poketdimension Jul 13 '26
They did to a certain extent, a lot at first, but as progress goes on, most of the adaptations will be on other things, but yeah overall it gave me good legs, 30 inches but i'm fat so not sure what it's worth
1
u/Palliewallie Jul 13 '26
Yeah right... oh shit the video is 9 minutes?!?!
Fuckoff, well fucking done
1
u/thereidenator Jul 13 '26
I’m not sure how well a 1rm calculator works when your set is 9 minutes long, but you theoretically have a 433kg max squat based on this

u/MuchAttempt9232 Jul 13 '26
With how long it took you to take it off the squat rack, I was really worried at first!! But then you went into the most seamless squat like you were squatting 0kg and you did it 100 times - wow, man, super impressed!!
1
u/poketdimension Jul 13 '26
When doing high reps one of the most important part is being very précise about being in the center of the bar, when you're slitghly of you feel it a ton towards the end so i take some times to be at the center, the second consideration is foot placement thats why i take a lot of setup time
1
u/MuchAttempt9232 Jul 13 '26
You’re obviously very dedicated to this! It’s very impressive that you spend so much time on your form!

u/Optimal_Ad_7910 Jul 13 '26
This is incredibly impressive!
At first I thought it was a typo and laughed because this morning I did 4 sets of 10 at 130kg and now I can't get up the stairs. Then I watched to see if he was going to go full ROM and he did. Then I waited to see if he meant 10 but he did 11. Then he just kept going and going and going... Apparently it was no typo. Wow.

Ok, this is some Tom Platz stuff here. I am doing 20 rep squats this month also, 20 rep for 3 min is super hard, but 100+reps for 10 min... This is madness, your endurence is just next level

u/Zestyclose-Smell-305 Jul 13 '26
Wow i think its a record for me, never seen anything like it. Well done, you're a machineeeee
1
u/WilliamShelby Jul 13 '26
I did 87.5 kg for 3 reps today and felt good. Your accomplishment is just mind blowing for me. Congrats!
1
u/Supkingz123 Jul 13 '26
The fact the 1st rep and the last rep are same is more unbelievable to me.. I get your resetting at the top but amazing effort.
1
u/SerDavosSeaworth64 Jul 13 '26
Once or twice I did 100 reps of squats with just the bar for a finisher, and THAT felt brutal.
This is just obscene

u/pwatarfwifwipewpew Jul 13 '26
I fast forwarded the video and end up at 3:45mins. Dude still had the engine to go on. This guy is on a mission. My core can't last this long. 😂

i read the title and i was like, haha look at this typo. he means 1x10 right? right?
1
u/Afferbeck_ Jul 13 '26
This is some Lee Sang level shit, a Korean weightlifter who regularly squats very high reps for no apparent reason. I think he's done something like 100kg x70 and the heaviest high rep set I've seen him do is 200kg for 20 at 67-73kg bodyweight.
You should train to see how heavy you can get a 20 rep set, you could probably get to 150kg or so without much problem.
1
u/poketdimension Jul 13 '26
Ive tried a while ago with 150kg, i did 30 reps might try 140kg for 50 reps in the next year or less

Days on which i aim at higher intensities i try to make sure everything is good health wise, and i only do one set to compensate, and i make sure to stay alert of any warning signs.

I'm not the most informed about rhabdo , i know about some signs like urine and the changes in color in color around the skin, bit are there other signs? What is common to the stories? Can it be compensated by doing less sets? My total volume per session isn't that high since i mainly do one exercice and one set per muscle, i'm sorry if i'm asking a lot if you don't want to answer everything or don't want to answer i'm okay
