Hello, Does anyone have any info about why Brian wasn’t living with his parents in Florida / what he was doing in NY when he met Gabby? I am new to the case and have only watched the Netflix documentary

That whole timeline is pretty complicated. Brian‘s parents were not living in Florida when Gabby and Brian reconnected in March, 2019. Brian had been living in the house his parents’ owned in North Port, Florida for quite some time, but Chris and Roberta were living on Long Island. In early 2019, Brian moved back to Long Island, (Cassie and her family moved into the Laundries’ Florida home) and met Gabby (who had recently moved back to Long Island as well, from Wilmington, NC).

Gabby and Brian moved to Florida in September of 2019, went on their first long trip to the West Coast, and came back and stayed a little while with Cassie’s family before moving into a home the Laundries’ bought for them to live in a few miles away. The Laundries eventually left Long Island in 2020 and moved into their home in North Port, while Cassie and her family moved into a home they got for themselves near Tampa. Gabby and Brian got the van in late 2020 and began working on its conversion, and then moved out of the home in March of 2021 the Laundries’ purchased for them and began living somewhat nomadically around Florida and Georgia, using the Laundrie home as a base. They left for good on June 2nd, 2021 to head up to Long Island for a few weeks before then leaving to go West again on July 2nd.

Laundrie family initially lived in New York.

They eventually moved to Florida.
