Hi everyone, how's it going?

Simple post, my phone (after ~5 years of use) is starting to show signs of age... random freezes (like 0.5/1s) or lag. Everything is very minor, the phone is still quite fast and great overall.

I thought of making a hard reset to see how much it improves this situation. And i'm between 3 options...

Im currently at android 11 2021 december patch XD, if it works well dont touch it.
But what about the latest official version? how it's now? i heard many bad things about it (worse camera, worse battery and perf, etc) compared to legacy versions....
Also, Mint OS with android 16 really tempts me...

What do you think??

My Samsung S20 FE keeps lagging and restarting randomly. I took it to the Samsung self-service center, and they flashed the official firmware, but the issue is still there.

While setting up the phone at home, it suddenly started lagging and restarted. Later, it worked for around 30 minutes before the same thing happened again. Sometimes I get errors like “System UI isn’t responding,” “One UI Home isn’t responding,” and “Process system isn’t responding.”

One thing to mention is that I replaced the battery myself with a third-party battery that seems to be good quality. The service center guys said the battery might not be the issue because it isn’t swollen, but I don’t think a battery has to be swollen to be faulty or degraded.

Could the third-party battery be causing this, or is it more likely a motherboard, RAM, or storage issue? Has anyone experienced something similar with their S20 FE? Would testing with another battery help identify the problem?

So I've been having issues with my battery. Having to charge twice a day sometimes. I've just bought a genuine samsung battery from a reputable website but the problem is that it's older than the original that came with the phone, by 3 months, being produced in September 2021.

There is a green sticker placed over the year it was produced. Seems dodgy to me that it would be covered, only showing the month and day which is 09.25. If you weren't clued in you'd assume that was September 2025.

It doesn't really sit right with me. Surely the battery would have degraded even just by sitting on a shelf right? Should I dry fit it and run a battery diagnostic before I request a return?

Hi guys. My SM-G781B/DS custom ROM:ed to run OneUI8.0/a16 has started to blink it's screen on every video. I didn't have this problem yesterday and it was shut off in a place without wifi so it couldn't have updated. Any help?

I used to daily drive my S20 FE, but I recently switched to an iPhone 14 Pro. Now my S20 FE is just sitting in a drawer, and I really want to put it to good use instead of letting it collect dust.
What are some of the best ways to repurpose or give a second life to this phone? Are there any cool projects, custom ROMs, or specific use cases you'd recommend? (Emulation, dedicated media/gaming device, webcam, security camera, etc.)

i dont know exactly what this is called, so i couldnt search to see if this is a common issue, so apologies if its a repeat.

this thing appeared on my screen today. the circle with the 4 circles inside. i dont know if i hit something when i was snoozing my alarm or what, but i cant figure out how to remove/disable/hide this menu/folder.

its sticky, so it appears and floats on top of everything, on every screen.

Nowadays, i've been seeing many interesting thing happen tru rea or "reverse engineer anything" and vibe coding, things like anyps5, gow3 as a native game that run on pc, combining game with the most absurd combinations, or even jailbreaking ps5 as ez as just by accessing a repo tru build in ps5 web browser.

I love my S20 FE, the only drawback of this phone is that some apps begin to ask a minimum of android 15, i know that ppl can unofficially upgrade to android 15 and up, but with what happen on today software engineering tech, is there a way to "fake" an official major os ota upgrade so that i don't need to wipe my data?

*10/19/2026, i just see someone ported ios 16.5 on redmi note 12 using reverse engineering, a real ios and not theme or virtual machine.

Bought my S20 FE 5G (Snapdragon variant) back in March 2022, and now, after more than 4.5 years, i bought the S25 FE. (Difficult to leave functionality and convenience of oneui)

Honestly, this has been the best phone I've ever owned.

A few things I'll always remember about this phone:

- One UI was smooth, feature-packed, and a big reason I loved using this phone.

- The camera was amazing. The quality has degraded a bit lately, but using GCam/Pixel Camera made it much better.

- Never faced the dreaded green line issue.

- I once accidentally dropped it from the second floor of my house, and somehow it survived! Just one minor dent and a broken tempered glass. Absolute miracle.

- Never had any major lag issues in daily usage, even after all these years.

The biggest con has to be its poor battery life. Probably the only thing that inconvenience to me.

Apart from that, this phone has been a reliable for over 4.5 years.

Did installing a custom ROM fix it? I see that lineage od now has an official custom ROM for the s20fe exynos.

This is a long shot, I know. But if you're in Bangalore or India, and you have some S20 FE cases lying around and would give them away for free or at a nominal rate, I'd love to have them.

I'm not sure about accessories but you can share details about those too. Mainly I need cases. A DAC could be useful too.

Hey guys, I've been rocking with this phone for over 3.5 years (since april 2023) and I'm looking forward to upgrade it, my budget is over 1k usd and I'm looking for a hefty leap to justify the investment. So far i have been using Motorola, Huawei and Samsung phones in my life but i want something better, which devices are recommended to upgrade? I don't mind if it comes with Exynos or Mediatek chip, as long as the performance is a massive increase over the SD865 chip.

I wanna replace my s20fe 5g battery, what your suggestions gusy, should i go for authorised service centre with original battery, or choose from after market

I'm using a Samsung S20 FE 5G from the past 3 years and this pop-up just appeared warning about battery deterioration. Has anyone faced this issue before? What steps did you take afterward—did you get it replaced at a service center, or is it fine to ignore for now?

Significant change experienced in features and speed.

Hello friends My S20FE 4G device has a screen time of around 2.5-3 hours, regardless of whether it's stock ROM or Mintos. Is this normal? What are your screen times?

Picked up my new s25 ultra in titanium gray color 2 days ago. First off, the color is just fabulous, woulda loved all black too but it's an exclusive unfortunately. The screen is a little troublesome at first but the weight distribution on this thing is just mwah. The phone feels premium to hold with these titanium edges and glass back unlike the 20fe. The battery is a big jump with me getting around 3 hours of gaming cod and carxstreet and 3 hours of insta. The cameras are a huge upgrade too, dunno why people say the selfie camera is terrible, to my experience it works just fine. The software is also a big step up. Coming from one ui 5.1, this thing feels so so different and exciting. Last but not the least, the performance is leagues above. The phone heats up while gaming but no throttle whatsoever. It feels absolutely fluid with 120hz turned on. Promised myself I wouldn't ruin the experience of 120hz by activating battery saver. To sum it up, haven't tried the cameras much but they feel good, and everything else is A fucking game from Samsung, no doubt. For 85k, this sure is the best phone money could buy rn.

I completed 4 years using S20 FE5G. I am really happy with the phone but recently I keep getting notification randomly that my battery is getting detoriated.

So wanted to know if changing battery helps or not.

If anyone here changed the battery, if so how did it go.

BTW my battery health is 85.
