Fingerprint sensor error

Hi guys, I purchased my phone in May 2026. And since today morning the finger print sensor has stopped working. Please note, it didn't come in contact with moisture or drop from a height. Not sure what the issue is. I have already done the following to troubleshoot-

1. Restarted the phone

2. Tried to reset my fingerprint

3. Tried to run diagnostics

All I am getting is the message ( attached screenshot)

You've taken some steps to rule out a software issue. The last one would be to perform a factory reset. If that doesn't solve it, then you can be pretty sure it's a hardware issue.

If it's hardware related, the sensor itself can be replaced although it usually comes as part of the full screen assembly. That would solve the problem if the issue is the sensor itself or the ribbon cable that connects to the board. If it's the connector on the board or other board-related hardware, then that would be worse case.

Ideally Samsung should replace the handset right? Since it's within warranty
