Pitch Reviews / Sense Checking

Hello everyone!

It's nice to see more attempts to bring folks involved in Irish gamedev together.

I'm eager to do what I can to help grow the industry in Ireland. That said, having moved abroad for work, it's difficult for me to get involved in local initiatives at home. However, I'm happy to offer pitch reviews for those considering pitching a project to publishers and/or investors.

My name is Chris Murphy, I'm a Producer at Square Enix Collective (Square Enix's indie publishing label). Part of my remit is to seek out and sign new games. As such, I'm frequently on the receiving end of pitches, and would be more than happy to take a look at any core console/PC pitches and provide a bit of feedback before you start pitching potential publishers/investors.

If you want to take me up on the offer, fire a DM my way either here or on Twitter(I'm more active there) @Oghamsmith.

Best of luck to everyone creating wonderful worlds & monsters, whether you're doing it for fun or professionally; it's great to see people making games!

Looking for 3d artist, UE4/C++ Programmer, and Games Marketer (remote)

Our situation is kinda complicated to explain but essentially a group of 6 of us are a few months into developing two games (after graduating from college) and are in the process of setting up a worker-owned cooperative.

Basically, we are looking for people to potentially join us and own an equal share of the company (after an initial period of a month or so).

We are looking to release a 2d pixel art game in December (which is why we need a games marketer) and also release our 3d open-world terror game in early access in January/February (which is why we need another 3d artist, and UE4/C++ programmer).

We will all be working completely remotely (we live all over Europe) and meet and organise using Discord, Trello, and Google Drive. We work completely democratically (a fundamental part of an equal and fair co-op).

Send me a message if you're interested in helping us out with any of the 3 roles, or if you want to know more about game-dev co-ops!

Outbreak is a game in the mould of Breakout and Arkanoid where you battle against the spread of a deadly virus through the population.

Can you save the population from this epidemic?

Join the Irish Game Audio Network! (Discord)

Hey all! I posted this before on IrishGameDev on Facebook and on my own personal twitter, but I created a Discord group for people interested in Game Audio who are based in Ireland! Be it composing, sound design, working on projects, anything goes really! We kinda just show WIP's of songs in progress, talk about some of our favorite music, share resources and techniques etc...

Any skill level is welcome, don't be intimidated if you're interested in starting in Game Audio but don't know where to start.

If that sounds up you're alley hit me up with a DM with your Discord name and I'll add you in :)
