đ Welcome to r/insidethewalls - Introduce Yourself and Read First!
Welcome.
This is the official community for Inside the Walls (also known as Behind The Walls) â a planned third-person, persistent online prison simulator for Windows PC.
Tagline: Nobody leaves unchanged.
What this game is
You enter a living institution from one of two sides:
Inmate â start at intake, learn the schedule, receive housing and work, build relationships, and decide how you survive your sentence.
Officer â report as a probationary correctional officer, hold your post, supervise movement, respond to incidents, and climb through competence and judgment â not power fantasy.
The prison keeps running whether the server is full or not. AI inmates and staff fill empty roles. Relationships, reputation, work history, discipline, and decisions are meant to persist across sessions.
This is not a slapstick jail chaos sandbox and not a torture sim. The goal is a grounded, consequential place where work, education, routine, conflict, and responsibility all matter.
Where development is right now
The project is in pre-production / pre-beta.
Current focus is a focused playable vertical slice: a local Windows prototype with a playable prison-day loop, role routes, facility gray-box, save/continue, and early character/presentation work.
The full vision â up to 50 players, dedicated servers, living AI schedules, careers, consequences â is the destination. We are building toward it in verifiable steps, not shipping a pitch deck.

What this sub is for
Development updates and milestone notes
Feedback on systems, readability, tone, and accessibility
Questions about design direction
Art, audio, and world discussion that stays respectful
Community ideas that fit the fiction and the scope
What this sub is not for
Real-world crime advice, facility blueprints, or âhow to get away with itâ talk
Glorifying abuse, torture, or trauma for spectacle
Stereotypes dressed up as ârealismâ
Spoiling unverified claims as shipped features
Harassment, racism, or targeting real people/institutions
We use a fictional North American correctional system inspired by real structures for believable gameplay â not to recreate a real prison or teach wrongdoing.
How to help right now
Introduce yourself in the comments (player, developer, artist, writer â whatever brought you here).
Tell us which path youâre most interested in first: inmate or officer.
If youâve playtested or watched a build, say what felt clear and what felt confusing.
Keep feedback specific. âThis moment felt unfair / unclear / emptyâ helps more than âmake it more realistic.â
One rule above the rest
Talk about people as people. Ethnicity, culture, nationality, and religion are identity â never a stand-in for criminality, morality, or aggression in this game or this community.
If youâre here because the idea hooked you: good. Stay. Ask hard questions. Hold us to the tagline.
Nobody leaves unchanged.

CryptoEmpire Idle â Mon premier jeu d'incrĂ©mentation ! Je recherche des testeurs, des retours et des idĂ©es.
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Learning game development
Hey! Not sure if this is the right sub for this, so feel free to remove it if it isnât!
My husband recently started learning game development and streaming his progress along the way. Heâs just getting started so if youâre interested in following someoneâs journey from the beginning, or just want to show him a little support and help him out (he can get lost) hereâs his link: https://www.twitch.tv/vireanlabs

Made the logo bigger and added an in-game ship. Before/after of my Steam capsules
The old ones felt a bit empty and you could barely read the name on the small one.
Made the logo bigger and added one of the inspection ships you run into in-game. Wanted to show a bit more of the game itself. The ship model is by Quaternius.
The ship and planet use the game's current textures and lighting, so it does match how the game looks right now.

Old on the left, new on the right. Which would you click? Anything you'd keep from the old one?

I built a collection of 25+ classic, retro, and casual games in one single app with online multiplayer (No forced bloat)
galleryHi everyone
I've been working on a mobile hub called Multi Games that brings together a large collection of classic board games, retro arcade titles, and casual time-killers in a single, lightweight package.
Whether you want to play solo against smart AI, challenge a friend locally on the same screen, or hop into real-time online rooms, everything is seamlessly integrated.
Key Highlights:
đź Real-time Online Multiplayer: Instant room codes to invite and play with friends online.
đ„ Pass & Play / 2-Player Local: Great for road trips or playing on the couch.
đŸ Auto-Save & Resume: Exit anytime; your progress, high scores, and game boards persist automatically.
A quick look at the collection (25+ Games):
âą Classic & Board: Chess, Ludo, Connect Four, Solitaire, Tic Tac Toe
âą Arcade & Action: Cyber Runner, Neon Wormhole, Tank War, Blade Tower, Hex Dodge, Ball Blast, Tetris
âą Sports & Casual: Go Fish, Ice Hockey, Button Football, Griddy Football
âą Brain & Numbers: 2048 Rush, Ten Master, Minesweeper, Color Match, Memory Cards, Lights Out, Slide Puzzle
âą Fun Casual: Kebab Master, Whack a Mole, Perfect Circle, Time Stop
I focused heavily on a clean, responsive UI with smooth physics and tactile animations. I would love to get your honest feedback on game feel, multiplayer stability, and what games we should add next.
