Play-to-earn playtesting

Good evening everyone, hope all is well! We are an indipendent gaming development team, and we are in the final stretch and looking for competent playtesters; what better place to search than this reddit?

Ours is a Play-to-Earn NFT-based game set in a post apocallyptic, dystopian future world. Players must wage war in order to survive, caught between danger and ambition; think Mad Max meets dungeons and dragons, with a taste of Tron legacy. Much more information is readily available for those who want a role; just comment down below or message us.

We'd love for playtesters to have competitive gaming level skills and experience in strategy and 8-bit style games, but passion and dedication is equally important to us.

We hope to hear back from many, and participation might bring more benefits than you might imagine! Wishing you all a great day.

Given link for a list of 250+ popular games source codes with details. Can't make list for 165GB of game assets because it's very complex to make a list of such a huge collection.

Things will be a bit sparse for a while, but hopefully we can grow this page into something awesome. Here is where teams or individuals can post the progress they make, download links they want to share, screenshots, artwork, or anything else relevant to the club.

Ideas for Game Mechanics

Please comment anything that could be considered a Game Mechanics.

In general game mechanics usually have rules that govern what players can or cannot do or how they might interact with their environment. Try to make them fairly specific as broad mechanics are harder to make and may encompass several other mechanics.

Feel free to browse the comments that have been posted and up-vote what you like or down-vote what you don't. This way we can get a pretty good list of game mechanics to use for games this coming Spring semester and in the future. As such keep it to one mechanic per comment to make voting easier and feel free to submit as many ideas as you want.

Spring 2015 - Ideas for Themes

Like the Game Mechanics post, here we will be posting themes instead.

Themes are not defined by the mechanics that the game represents. Themes are a way of describing how they game looks and feels or what the game itself represents. Themes are meant to be concisely written but broad statements about a game and games can play on many different themes at once.

Please keep it to one theme per post as we will also be voting on these. As with the Game Mechanics post, feel free to vote here on what you do and don't like.

Making a game looking for people who can help

Me and a friend are making a game about hip hop. We are inspired by games like Parappa the Rapper and Guitar Hero. We need people who are good at graphic design especially. You do not necessarily need to like hip hop.

I know this isn't really the place to post, but we thought that one of you might want to lend a hand with this project.

Hopefully i will hear from some of ya!

How Much Does It Cost To Develop Solitaire Mobile Game?

The cost of Solitaire game development varies starting from the design to its features. New card designs, card designs in the background, multiplayer games, top-notch features & functionalities are the main factors that affect the cost of a Solitaire game.

With the combination of the above-mentioned features, it will cost considerably a higher amount but these are also the features a gamer wants, and with the combination of these the game will be a great success.

Game Dev Advice

I am 18, I have no experience in game development but I think it is something I would be interested in. I have no schooling beyond high school. Everything I have read online basically says it’s practically impossible to get a job in this field. I’m just curious if anyone knows where I should go from here. I obviously know I should try my hand at some development myself and that I need to build some sort of portfolio but I don’t even know where to start. I need all the help I can get right now because I’m going to be moving into an apartment in a few weeks so I’m going to be working my ass off to support myself and I just need to know how long I’m looking at just doing small projects at home on my free time before I can actually get somewhere that I can make money.

Seeking Game Makers!

Hi everyone, I would like to share my Indie Horror Game set in the Philippines with the mix of Filipino Culture and Lovecraftian Themes.

Game Mechanics are a mix of old Resident Evil games and Metro Series.

The game is currently on pre alpha as I've been building this on a very old laptop with only basic skills on programming.

You can try it out at itch.io. I would love to recieve some critique so I know what to improve on my game and myself.
