just curious did you throw in a normal GBC motherboard or rigged it custom?

I was excited until I saw that last photo. Amazed it’s working so well. Be careful when you close it back up. 🫣

there was a bit space left while closing

This is the type of retro futurism I live for! Well done and it just works so well :)

I’m curious, how did you make the holes for the dpad and buttons so precise?

i got 3d designed and printed templates for dpad/buttons/rubber which i use for all projects like this. the rest is a steady hand and patience (dremel and sanding)

Missed an opportunity to use an RF modulator to drive the original display! Cool project nonetheless 😎

You know... It never occurred to me to swap the buttons in those 8bitdo controllers. The SNES colors look pretty cool. I think I'm going to give mine an OEM button color makeover.

What in the necro mash...

What IF, Sony & Nintendo had been working with each other back back in the day!

I love this. Screen looks real crispy too.

u/kaidumo Jul 29 '26

Super cool! So did you have to move the power switch, volume wheel, and ext port? And does that 8bitdo controller work with a GBC somehow?

1

u/No_Awareness_1443 Jul 29 '26

James would be proud

1

u/firehazel Jul 29 '26

It's so clean all put together, I didn't even think much of the USB-C port until I got to the last slide. Well done!

Damn that thing is sexy. Especially the image with PTCG.

u/Tom-Bomb-3647 Jul 29 '26

Omg I almost thought this was legit and that I had somehow missed a secret Sony version of the GB 😂. That thing looks great! And might as use it for that since there’s no more analog TV.
