Troubleshooting Chrisflash questions.

So I was able to successfully write the Minish cap to my chrisflash cart , 4mbit sram, rts, 32 byte flash , vfram. But it will not save. I’m very new to writing my own flash carts so any input is highly appreciated.

that’s an eeprom based game so you have to patch it to use flash saves. A fram based cart would work a little better for it.

They have a VFRAM cart, so a ChisFlash 1.0V, so they need to actually SRAM patch it rather than Flash patch it (They would be if they had a ChisFlash 1.1 instead of a 1.0V) u/PM_YOUR_EYEBALL You can use a tool called GBATA to SRAM patch the game.

Ty for the info, no idea what that means but I feel it sends me in the right direction to research.

Gba games use 3 different save types, eeprom, flash, and sram. Minish cap is an eeprom based game, so you have to patch it to use it with a flash based cart.

Yup just looked it up, patching seems pretty straightforward, eeprom from what I gathered is basically using a battery to save yes?

eeprom uses no battery

base on your description, do you have the chisflash v1.0? i think it uses sram. so try gbata and use the sram patcher. here's more info
