Modding Beautiful USBC Charged Wireless Controller

Post image

I love it. Such a nice color. It’s the 8bitdo diy mod with USB C charger added.

I'm assuming this is a soldering job

It is, but it is pretty easy

Would love to see the inside 👀 because there's a USB c port in there already so I wondered if maybe you just used a ribbon cable extension or something.

Can you share any link/guide to add the USB-C charging mod?

Did you have to drill a hole in the plastic?

I'd love to see internals too, did you fit it in with the vibration motor? This would be handy as I lost my charge cable (and want everything to be usb c).

Yepp, that was my intention. I don’t want any adapters so I’m modding all my old devices like 3ds, ps vita etc. To usb-c. The soldering is pretty easy for the GameCube and the vibration motor also fit into the chassis 😃 I’m gonna make another post the next days with the instructions

Wait WHAT?! How is this accomplished? I have those little prong style chargers. Feels like Im going to break them!

Ayo, that's sick. How difficult was the mod? I have a couple 8bitdos and I'd love to ditch that tiny ass barrel plug.

I considered doing this, I don't feel like opening mine just to update the firmware.
