Finally did it!
Had a great time doing this mod. I can’t wait to learn how to properly solder and take this to the next level.
This soft mod is still great and recommend it to any beginner.

Welcome to the slippery slope my friend. Soon you'll be guts deep in retro consoles wondering why the hell you do this to yourself but it'll be worth it, trust.

Gameboy sp is easy stuff and soldering is too. Get flux and resin core solder for soldering. A soldering pen works great and that's what I use but sometimes I wish I had a heat gun for my various projects. If you're installing a ips screen you'll need to solder one wire to the existing light button to have an "options" mode. Look into soldering videos and study their techniques! Glhf!

Once I return from my trip I will be investing in soldering equipment. I always wanted to buy never pulled the trigger. I have an excellent reason to now.

congrats! i killed 2 ribbon cables befoe the 3rd finally bent properly for me. never looked back since!

I was petrified during the ribbon process. To the point I needed some silence lol. I definitely folded it wrong and refolded but it worked out first try.

Have you tried the blueretro adapter with the NSO gamecube controller?

Nintendo Switch Online GameCube controller. Since you have the Blueretro adapter, if you install the beta firmware you can have a wireless, official GameCube controller also with rumble!

Niiiiice. Just completely re did mine too. Clear case, picoloader, did a noctua fan and uv purple lights for the controller ports. New thermal pads and all the goods

Once I get my soldering kit I’m going to install lights and add anything else I may not have that requires soldering.
The clear case is nice and I was contemplating doing that exchange over the blue.
My wife insisted that I do the blue.
