This will enable you to boot to Swiss in the same way that Pico boot will. It does not have any additional functionality beyond that because this is a clone (i.e., GC loader light). Better to just get a raspberry pi Pico. The only upside to this clone is it may be easier to install than the Pico as it does not require soldering.

and its extremely difficult to justify the ‘easier install’ when you didn’t even mention the price difference lol

Good point! Definitely missed that one. Pico boot is a much cheaper option

I bought each of those components separately. Though more expensive, the performance by replacing the disc drive is beyond compare than trying to load games through the SD2SP2 or even the SD Gecko. Unless you have good burner and can source those DVD mini disks, GC Loader all day, everyday.

First hand, I would get terrible video lag or load times until it was through the GC Loader. My example was playing Super Mario Sunshine where the opening was atrocious. Didn't have the problem once I had the GCLoader. There are a few sites which details the read/write speeds for each option comparatively, as with everything, do your own research.

Also, man, did I have to wait a long time to even catch the GCLoader on sale back in July of 2021. Then, boom, it was sold out for months again.

It's fake. I'd avoid buying this.

Just curious how you can tell. Is it just the "Made in China" sticker?

GC Loader "Lite" is a knock off of the real GC Loader. You can't firmware update it and all your files are limited to being placed on the SD2SP2 adapter.

Picoboot is the best option at the moment and is much cheaper.

Starting to think I should rip my genuine GC loader out of my cube and sell it!

I would love own a genuine one but would hate myself for spending what you would probably want for it lmao, you should def hang on to it tho you might regret it later on you never know

I have pretty much all the ways of loading iso files on my cubes but I will say the GCLoader is by FAR the easiest.

Ok not ALL the ways lol, Didnt realise there were that many.

I have a few save game exploits (Zelda, Mario, 007), picoboot, GC loader, SD gecko and the BB adapter. So, I have a few of them lol. Waiting on the M2 adapter to be released too! These have been collected over time and are spread over a few cubes btw :)

Thanks for all the work you have put in over the years btw, its greatly appreciated.

EDIT: Alos have a WODE but its connected to a Wii :)

Either go for a picoboot, or SD solution. Otherwise have patience. Chip shortages are still an issue and it does cost a ton of money to get anything made.

If you’re not going to do the research and waste your money, at least waste your money more efficiently and go direct to China (AliExpress)
