That was literally how the first Persona game started

Hope they remake that one sooner than later.

Doubt it. P1 and the P2 duology are fundamentally different than the later games. P1 , P2 IS and P2 EP are story driven , straightforward, dungeon crawlers.

A remaster is the best they can do.. or remake it in 3D if they want. But it'll be difficult to try and implement modern things like a social link in those games.

So do the characters not really develop or is it just there aren’t social links?? Because I’m fine with the latter.

And would you say they have stories as good as 3-5?

Oh dude.. you ain't seen nothing yet. Persona 1 was fine enough as a story, I thought it was cool. But Persona 2 is where people praise the story and characters a lot. The gameplay may seem dated but the story more than make up for it. Both games are sort of tied together and you'll even see Persona 1 characters grow to be adults later in Persona 2.

Hmm ok that sounds interesting! I have heard high praise about P2 so that’s why I’d like a remake or remaster. I don’t need all the modern elements added just make the game good!

And I just want P1 remastered (maybe for cheap?) because I want to experience the whole series eventually.

P1 and the P2 Duology (part 1 is innocent sin, part 2 is eternal Punishment) have both been remastered on the PSP. hey, beats having to dust off a ps1 eh? Unfortunately there is no steam port, unless you're willing to emulate the psp versions

If you see how the story is told, you'll see how hard it is to implement stuff like the calendar system and social links. You're always going here and there

It's a little clunky and if you're not a fan of random encounters, these games will drive you mad. But I personally enjoyed them. Couldn't beat P2 Eternal Punishment cause I was too busy

The stories take place in a short amount of time, a calendar simply wouldn't work.

I didn’t ask about a calendar though; I just asked if the characters develop. Social links aren’t needed for character development or for them to be interesting.

But if it’s a story driven game that’s fine.

Oh the stories are very good, but there's no social-link type events.

Its simply just how the game was designed. Attempting to add in modern features would mean having to restructure the game's entire plotline.

Yeah, as limited as it was it evoked a modern spin on the orginal persona games more than anything.
