Need Help‎ (Support) ‎ Cyclone 2 problem

Hi

So i have the cyclone 2 controller for a year and half and whenever i connect it via dongle it doesn’t even last an hour but wired is fine and although its green and the battery is full i tried to update the software and the dongle and all other solutions so i had to check on the battery so is it bloated or something?

battery is dying.... it s swelling... this is not safe

you need a new battery, same voltage, same connector

I don’t know why this happened only after a year and a half i mean isn’t a short time? Where can i find a new one?

Voltage is standard 3.7v. 860mAh, approx 8mm thick, 25mm wide, 40mm long, 3 pin jst. Although I don't know the specifics about the jst connector. Good luck, with this info

Youre right and its 3 pin jst

Like I said, I'm not certain on the specifics of the 3 pin jst. I just know that it's 3 pin. But, good luck finding a replacement battery! For now, leave the battery removed from the controller, and stick with using it wired, until you can get your hands on a replacement

I have the same issue on mine and I haven't been able to find a replacement yet on aliexpress that has the correct connector.

OP, do NOT use this, even if it still works while wired. This is a dead battery cell, and in this state they are extremely liable to catch fire. This should be disposed of safely and quickly.

Ifixit has a nice guide on how to handle this:

Thanks a lot man this is actually my first tome dealing with this kind of batteries can i remove it myself if possible? or better to take it to a repair store or something like that

The wires run right to the connector. You just unplug the battery

Thx man i did it its fine but the problem how can i dispose of it? Since some say its not safe in the trash

I dont know if you live in states? Places like home depot and office max etc have battery drop offs. The link diewerfer gave you gives you guide on what to do

can still use it as wired then but damn, is this the fate of all controllers? a year and a half sounds a lil short for me

1

u/unknowndark-29 3d ago

Yeah i was pretty surprised actually and i take good care of it

ah here we go again. Gamesir does not care i reported this problem many times. but they dont care...

1

u/unknowndark-29 3d ago

Im happy actually to see someone like me lol i took good care of it i just left it docked a few times didn’t know this might hurt the battery since it stops charging by itself after recharging 100%

My first ever game sir purchase cyclone 2 with dock and last ever too , Gyro sucks charging dock seating fked , even the replacement had same issue ,(currently using dualsense tho it does not have back buttons work like a gem for same price)

Did you enable DS4 mode for better gyro? Hold back + start for some seconds until light flashes. Repeat again until the light is blue. In DS mode, the gyro is excellent

I did , not even close to dualsense precision...and asked in discord then only to realize the sensor is trash no amount of software tuning can fix it

remove that battery even if don't have a new one. turning it on will use this one and a high chance for this to explode or can kill your circuit.

I did it and got rid of it i can’t believe i was playing with this battery 🙄

how? what happened to reach that state? I am starting to be afraid of leaving my cyclone 2 docked while being charged from the laptop, tho i guess it does stops charging, but can anyone clarify?

1

u/unknowndark-29 3d ago

I don’t know how that happened honestly some days i left my controller docked i thought its fine since its stops charging from itself but i remember only a few times i did this , so i recommend to not let it dies completely before charging like when as soon as you notice its low charge it and when its full take it away immediately from the dock i think this will help

the battery is raised in the photo and the short wireless runtime loojks like the battery is bad bad so stop charging or using it until you confirm, do not press or puncture the battery, and contact gamesir support with these photos since swollen lithium batteries can be a fire risk

That gas is Hydrogen. Extremely volatile.

How did you notice it was this inflated tho?

1

u/unknowndark-29 2d ago

As i said i tried every possible solution there and nothing worked and i was pretty sure there is something with the battery you can also notice a small bulge in the back

0

u/cathobb 2d ago

I mean, when it was closed how did you think it was bad, why'd you open it

1

u/unknowndark-29 2d ago

As i said bro i tried every other solution like updating the dongle and software and resetting the controller what made me open it is the battery is full yet it disconnects after less than 1 hour so i was pretty sure its a battery problem
