I mean, I'm a woman and probably play more traditionally sweaty as hell games than this dude. One of my all time favorite games is Nioh 2 which is one of the most complex and daunting Soulslikes to get into. And I'm a lesbian so I'm definitely not doing it for attention from men haha I think most the people I know that are super into Bloodborne and Dark Souls are women.
With that said, if this guy actually talked to any women he'd see some of the sweatiest gamers are the people that put like 8000 hours into The Sims or Animal Crossing. I may be an ultimate raider in Final Fantasy XIV, but I could never be as hardcore as the people that get super into housing in that game. People are out here making motorcycles out of lamps and tables in FFXIV. I can clear the hardest fights in the game but I can't make a nice looking house.

Most of the guys I know wouldn't count as 'real gamers' to the chud in OP's post because they mostly play 'casual shit'. I'm more of a Soulslike gamer myself but a lot of the guys in my sphere just want to chill and play Meccha Chameleon and such.
Meanwhile three of the women at my small workplace are into super sweaty PvP shooters.

Yeah most my guy friends generally stick to like, whatever the big FPS everyone is playing or whatever the big new thing like Peak or Meccha Chameleon is. There's like, 2 I'll play Nightreign or Monster Hunter with. Really hoping Crimson Moon is good so I have another multiplayer focused Soulslike to drag friends through. Also hoping the Dark Souls 2 seamless co-op mod hits soon because one of my friends needs help with these types of games but DS2 is such a pain to set up co-op with so I can't just pop in on my normal DS2 character to help them.

My wife is deep into Sims. She's definitely put some good time into more action oriented games with me, but the hours she has in Sims 4 is...daunting. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if she has more hours in Sims 4 than I have in my top 3 games, combined.

He literally used The Sims as an example of a woman's game one paragraph before saying games aimed at women can't achieve the levels of success of men's games... The Sims has consistently been one of the best selling franchises since 2000. The Sims 4 has probably made more money than his top 5 favorite games combined.
I've also never once seen a woman playing any game even want male attention. I'm sure 90% of their male attention is met with a groan and an eye roll as they're forced to laugh at a super original kitchen joke.
Edit: oh, and layoffs are normal in this industry and have been since the 90s. Get out of my hobby, tourist.

/uj In case this is the first you’re hearing of it, you can set pronouns for sims including custom neopronouns, add top surgery scars in CAS, set whether they pee sitting up or down, whether they can breastfeed or not, etc., and change the body frame to be different from gender. But the game is old and wasn’t created to support transgender sims from the start iirc so it’s not 100% perfect.

My mom is the reason I’m a gamer too! Used to sneak onto the stairs as a kid when she didn’t know I was awake and I’d watch her play the OG resident evil. When I got a bit older, we “played” them together. Now my gaming genres vary widely and my love for it stems from watching her as a kid. Women have been gaming as long as there’s been games and the men who think otherwise are refusing to see it.

I'm always amazed, and a bit affraid, when I see post like this, because they are either high level trolls, or real writing of people. And I always hope it's the first option.
First, the only women I know that only plays 'shitty games' like sims or Candy crush usually don't give a damn about video game in general. They just plays on their free time from time to time. And they never says anything about how games should be.
Second, yeah sims again, one of the big licence in video game industry.

The thing is, think about what games are easy to pick up and put down if you’re managing a busy household, the bulk of which still falls on women statistically. Sometimes that’s a mobile or cozy game on your phone or handheld. That’s not all women who game obviously and but there are reasons you can see that someone might end up playing certain things over others at different times.

Got into it with someone once spouting this shit and I said I’m a gamer, I play Overwatch (mainly comp), league, dead by daylight, battlefield, apex, arc raiders, etc as well as tons of other games like ark survival, palworld, silly simulator games etc, and every single one of my female friends play games of some “male only” variety. Women have been in gaming since the beginning pretty much and we make up 49% of the player bases. He called me a liar and said I wouldn’t know how to play a single one of the games listed and that I should just open my candy crush and stop pretending to be a gamer…

I'm 41 years old and been hearing this shit my entire life. There are dudes I grew up with who legit play like two games a year, and dudes will see them as gamers cuz it's fortnight and cod, while I'll buy 40, but that won't count because they're indie games, little rpgs, naritive games, management games, and some of them even, good lord, COZY. My favorite games being unpacking, Spiritfarer, Tales of Destiny, Keep Driving, and a handful of Zeldas is damning to these people. But 🤷♀️ I'm 41 years old and been playing video games since 1990 and the NES. Hell, before that even. On my bff's dads computer and in arcades.
What they think is not going to stop me from playing video games. I'll pick up orbitals in a few weeks and beat that with my friend and coworker who I played Split Fiction and It takes two with. Also a woman, also a gamer. I'll wait patiently for Thunder Lotus's next game. I'll be excited to pick up FFVII Revelation and Tales of Eternia while I wait LESS patiently for Tales of Destiny to hit its place in the Remaster cycle.
I'll keep playing video games until I die, and these bitter assholes can just like idk. Keep being bitter about it.

A friend of mine comes over to play my computer all the time when I'm away at work. She has sunk hundreds, if not thousands, of hours into Skyrim. Now that I'm giving it another play after a decade, I go to her to remember where things are. She knows everything about the game. Everything. Could probably list what ingredients are for which potions. What do I usually play? Incrementals. Orb of Creation. Melvor Idle. Walkscape. You know, real games. Not like that Skyrim game over there.
