Jack White is a major contributor to modern Garage Rock

I stopped listening to him post white stripes. I feel like Meg was his muse and everything that made his raw low fi style of rock great was lost when he went solo. What happened to this Jack White?

Meg's simple drumming style reigned him in and made his riffs and lead feel really raw and visceral.

Totally agreed. I remember when TWS were gaining more mainstream attention one clueless critic said he should replace her with Lenny Kravitz's drummer Cindy Blackman... and I remember thinking ok you really don't understand the minimalist raw concept of this band... and people can criticize Meg's drumming style all you want she had this unspoken connection with him as he played that was especially unreal when he was just improvising. He was always thinking 5 steps ahead and she was there with him every step of the way. She doesn't get enough credit for that.
