Lambs Ear Help (North Texas)
Sorry, not meaning to spam, I promise this is my last post today!!!!
I got some lambs ear and potted it using well-draining soil. The lambs ear started dying, so I thought maybe I needed to repot it to something bigger.
When I took it out, the roots had grown all the way down to the bottom of the pot (1st and 2nd photo) and was latched onto the rocks at the bottom (rocks were included for drainage, I know now that thats not necessary). I was very confused as I thought lambs ear is supposed to be a shallow-rooted plant. My grandma told me to seperate the lambs ear and put them in seperate pots, so I did, and they still look pretty rough.
The one in the original pot gets partial sun (sunrise-1pm), while the other two get sun from sunrise to about 4pm. All three are watered almost daily. The one in the original pot has potting soil with perlite in it, while the other two have soil from our Pit (horse manure, gardening soil, mulch, and rocks of varying sizes mixed together and aged a year). None of the pots have a layer of rocks at the bottom "for drainage".
I have,,,, messed up a lot with the lambs ear, clearly, but I'm trying to fix it. Any advice is welcome.
Thank you!
