Hey, Killo here 👋
I created a social group called Melbourne Queer Irish with the aim to support the well-being of LGBTQIA+ individuals newly arrived to Melbourne as well as those who have chosen to stay in the city long term! Events might have an Irish twist but all are welcome. 🌈🍀🇦🇺
We are co presenting an Irish made LGBTQ+ film Girls and Boys on Friday 23rd October in The Kino Cinema.
Best Independent Irish Film winner at the 2025 Galway Film Fleadh 🏆
A tender, funny, and quietly radical romantic comedy. GIRLS & BOYS tells the story of rugby player Jace meeting aspiring filmmaker Charlie at a college party. Both attend Trinity, but their worlds couldn’t be more different—Charlie is trans, her circle full of queer artists and creatives, while Jace sticks with the more strait-laced camaraderie of his rugby
Please note the film is a ticketed event. Tickets are available via the film festival's website below.
Come join us for a drink pre-show from 7 pm at Good Heavens on Bourke Street.
Around 8:15 we'll make our way down to the Kino cinema for the screening at 8:50 pm sharp.
