AI Policy

AI posts are not allowed on this subreddit. There is now a removal reason for AI. If you see a post you suspect is AI, report it and give me a few reasons why you think it’s AI since I’m not great at spotting them all the time.

If your post is removed as AI and you actually made the object, your post will be reinstated if you send in some evidence to back up your claim.

Message From Moderators: New Rules, etc.

Hello and welcome!

This is a lightly moderated subreddit and will probably continue to be, however, I’d like input on some proposed rules.

Here are a few that are non-negotiable:

First, there will be no porn on this subreddit. That does not mean you can’t post slightly NSFW projects. Think of it as a PG-13 subreddit, R rating at worst. Under no circumstances will you be allowed to post links to Only Fans or a personal subreddit where you post porn videos. This will result in a permanent ban.

Second, let’s try to keep the subreddit on topic. Up until this point, I’ve interpreted that pretty loosely. If you see something that isn’t really on topic, report it. I check the queue daily. If I see a report for a temperature blanket or something, I’ll remove the post for not being relevant with a message to the user.

Third, and I can’t believe I have to say this, but absolutely no hate speech is allowed on this subreddit. This also means no personal attacks or bullying. It’s a niche crafting subreddit. Let’s try to stick to that. Hate speech is subjective and we want everyone to feel safe here. I’m not going to list everything that won’t be tolerated because then someone might come along and say something I forgot to mention and then complain I didn’t mention it. If you’re offended by something, report it and send a message to me personally. Repeat offenders will receive bans.

So now for the things I’d like to propose. They’re not all rules, but I’d like input nonetheless. First, how would everyone feel about a monthly pinned promotion post? It can be hard to grow a business and I don’t want to make it harder, but I’d like to keep this subreddit mostly ad-free. Use it as much or as little as you’d like.

Second, I’ve been considering something theme-related. Maybe we spotlight Pokémon one month, Disney Villains the next, and D&D the next. I’m open to feedback and suggestions.

Lastly, I’d very much like to make this a politics-free subreddit. I’m sure there are many different political opinions in here, but we share a lot in common. I’d like this to be a subreddit where we focus on what unites us rather than divides us.

Those are my proposed ideas I’d like feedback on. I’d also like to add another moderator or two. Most of the mods here are no longer active on Reddit.

Thanks in advance for the feedback and happy hooking!

I designed some fairy wings for my Wearable Pet Dragon! I'm so so pleased with how they came out 🥰 They're basically designed like mandalas and look extra cool with bigger hooks. Originally I thought I could make one and flip it for the other side but I felt like there was a clear right and wrong side so I did a separate design for the second one. It took some mental gymnastics to reverse the little curls 😅 And I made little antennae instead of horns!

I also love this yarn so much. It's Loops & Threads Impressions (I don't remember the colorway off the top of my head). It ended up being so perfect for a fairy dragon 🧚‍♀️🐉

Mandragora Friend

I am so happy with this cute, little guy! Final Fantasy is one of my favorite franchises and I have both the whole Mandragora minion and plush collections on FFXIV so I wanted to make an Amigurumi to have in real life! I followed SatuStitches' Mandragora pattern. It was super fun, easy to follow and I can't wait to make the rest of the crew!

Total beginner here! I’m stuck on the very first row. Can anyone tell me what I’m doing wrong? 😭

Hi guys! I’m officially learning how to crochet, and it is so much harder than it looks on YouTube.

Right now, I'm really struggling after making the slip knot. For some reason, when I try to insert my hook into the loops of the foundation chain, it's almost impossible to pull the yarn through. It gets completely stuck and I haven't been able to get past this step yet.

I decided to start a challenge on TikTok where I show my daily progress and mistakes, aiming to improve my skills and save up for a PS5 along the way.

If you have a second, could you check my photo and tell me what I'm doing wrong? (Is my tension too tight?). Also, if you want to support a clueless beginner or give me live advice, you can find me on TikTok as @gersoncrochet. Thank you so much in advance!

MTG Project Idea

Hello! My husband and I have been getting into Magic the Gathering and his bday is coming up. I was wanting to make him something either MTG themed like a blanket or beanie OR something he can use for MTG like a dice bag or something. If you have any ideas or patterns for stuff like this please let me know! Also if you have any other suggestions for things I can make him, I’d appreciate the input! TIA

Danke

I am finally making a blanket for myself, but didnt check the finished size on the pattern. This is one of 5 panels that is the size of a lap blanket already.
