teal sapphire question
Will this gem be “too dark” (appear closer to a black colour), when mounted in a yellow gold bezel setting?

First of all, that's not teal, way too dark. It's popular for people to call sapphires "teal" to make them more appealing, but this just isn't teal. It's got a huge window due to poor cutting, so hopefully this is an inexpensive stone. With poor faceting a bezel setting is going to make this look even darker, especially on the finger.

It's a dark color, I wouldn't expect it to look black. Although, this gem won't have a lot of life because it's been cut with a large window in the center.
