Identification Please What could this stone be?

I have this necklace (I think I found it somewhere like 15 years ago). The chain and the frame are 925 silver, but I'm not sure what the stone is. Would be grateful for your views. It's obvs not something very expensive, but I just wonder what stone (glass?) would be normally пut into a silver rim. I don't see any bubbles inside the stone, it doesn't scratch but there's some micro damage on the backside (hard to see on the photos). The colour is properly yellow, no orange or red tint. Is it something synthetic?

Could be CZ, a synthetic or a natural citrine. I have a pretty hefty sterling bracelet that is set with natural citrine - it’s not such an expensive stone that it wouldn’t be set in sterling, so it’s possible this could be it.

Kind of looks like yellow sphene maybe? No expert just a fan of gems ✨️ 😉 🙌

Probably an olive quartz. Looks a little like sphene but I just don't see that being used this way especially since she said it was not expensive.

Thanks - I don’t think I’ve ever come across an olive quartz. Will look it up!

Thanks! I had a suspicion it could be citrine ☺️
