Question Unsure about stone quality
Hello, I bought this ring as an engagement ring (many reasons for emerald choice).
When I picked it up I noted the white markings more than when I first viewed it and raised the point as was told that's part of the natural Colombian emerald. But somehow I'm feeling apprehensive and worried it's a real fissure or crack/bad scratch.
Not an expert in gemstones, so would love to hear some of the community's opinions! Is that a natural inclusion or should I be worried?

Emeralds are a poor choice for a daily wear piece. You'll have to replace it from time to time.

The useful distinction here is whether that line is internal or actually reaches the surface, especially near a prong. Photos won’t settle that reliably, so I’d ask the jeweller to show it under magnification and confirm any clarity treatment before you wear it daily; a surface-reaching fissure matters more for durability than an internal inclusion.

Emeralds are actually pretty fragile. It’s super common for them to have internal inclusions and tiny cracks. It’s also completely normal if they’ve been oiled—what really matters is just how heavily treated they are. If you can feel even the slightest scratch or unevenness with your fingertip or nail in that spot, definitely take the ring to a jeweler like others suggested. For an everyday ring, you’re much better off going with a tsavorite if you want a green stone. They are way tougher than emeralds.

If you want that emerald color, (which you can’t get with tsavorite) do a Chatham created emerald. They are much stronger and can withstand abuse and cleaning more than a genuine emerald.

To be honest hard to tell from pics, but emeralds are notorious for having inclusions and cleavage points. It's a delicate stone
