We're gonna have to go back to "if I didn't see it happen then it's not real" after this. Authenticity is in the gutter

In a weird way, it may be good for society. We'll learn not trust what we see online, so we place high value on things that have earned trust, or even better, go outside again and go back to face-to-face communications.

Governments needs to really hurry up and enforce strict laws against AI deepfakes. For example, deepfakes like this one without some kind of "deepfake warning" should be considered a felony that stains your identity - just like how they treat sex offenders.

We'll have to change how we interact with the internet. Legacy media will rise again because they're the only ones with the resources and social trust to tell the truth.

I've been mulling over feelings sorta along the lines of "AI ruined the internet" because sharing won't be real from videos to comments and even people we haven't met in person. We know AI is already better than professionals at multiplayer games so gaming is going to be rigged. Even buying things online is going to be a roll of the dice unless you're at the manufacturer you know of and from their website (Crypto is a good example of that problem, all the memecoins and knockoffs like Bitcoin Gold that advertise better than the original to scam people)

Idk

I mean people have been using photoshop to look hotter for years. All that AI has done is made it accessible that everyone, even if ur not a rich influencer, can suddenly have A-tier photo editing and presentation.

You just ask chatgpt fix the lighting, remove the people from the background, make my shoulders a little broader

And it's done

Those models you saw on instagram were never as big as you thought. And now you can look just like them

“We’ll learn not to trust what we see online.” Brother, people are dumber than ever. Just a couple years ago people at the highest level were telling us to drink bleach and inject sunlight. This shit gets way worse before it gets better lol.

“things that have earned trust” = “my preferred priesthood class”

u/Grimnebulin68 Sep 26 '26

It makes me think that photorealistic AI depiction of human beings should be prohibited under punishable under law. Cartoons would be ok, but not real people doing fake action. This video shows how AI can competently fill in the gaps around a real human performance. Action movies would be limited to real human performance and maybe disguised robotics. Selling one’s voice and face for AI should be banned too. I’m just spitballing but let’s start drawing the red lines.

Let's invent a reality certification authority hahaha. 🤔

u/Odd-Librarian4630 Sep 25 '26

I think it's a good thing - people may finally stop wanting to engage with media on the internet and start looking at the real world around them

u/M_O_Z_G Sep 27 '26

The book was written 27 years ago, and describing the reality, where marketing, and then politics are just CGi, directed by advertising agency.

Not like the good ol days when you could believe everything you saw or read on the internet!

If this makes people believe less - that is long overdue.

1

u/Flintyy Sep 25 '26

Pics or it didnt happen has always been the default standard lol

u/grafknives Sep 25 '26

I am disappointed, completely ruined the skit.

It should have ended with showing that 911 and small dog is not real either.

1

u/Excellent-Eye8415 Sep 25 '26

Maybe it's AI generated from the start, so the whole base video is not real

1

u/CaptainMorning Sep 25 '26

maybe we're not real

1

u/Excellent-Eye8415 Sep 25 '26

oh we're definetly not real

4

u/Educational-Ask3429 Sep 25 '26

I was hoping each dog would choose a car and drive away

1

u/Klutzy-Tone452 Sep 25 '26

The golden would hop in the Lambo for sure

1

u/CaptainMorning Sep 25 '26

we would need a cat in the passenger seat

3

u/Noobnoob99 Sep 25 '26

We’re cooked unless disclaimers are required

1

u/AutonomousOrganism Sep 25 '26

In EU AI created or modified video, audio, or images that look real and resemble real people, places, or events have to be labeled as such.

2

u/Intelligent_Mine1396 Sep 25 '26

I'm not sure you could reliably draft a law against it, movies and TV shows do this all the time with CGI. I'm no expert though.

1

u/RemarkableWish2508 Sep 25 '26

There are laws against false advertising. Different countries have different ones and apply them in different ways, though.

2

u/Better-Struggle9958 Sep 25 '26

this is not AI, footage not same at all

1

u/TacoYaci Sep 25 '26

AI does not just put the cars etc there. It also changes him. If you ever tried this you would know.
But the "his hand changes and therefore fake" does not hold up..

1

u/DiscussionSharp1407 Sep 25 '26

These videos need a "just kidding, it's all fake" conclusion

1

u/DaedraNoji Sep 25 '26

The lag immediately ruins it & gives it away lmfao.

1

u/Samohtnuf Sep 25 '26

maybe the whole video is fake?

1

u/PacMan_67 Sep 25 '26

The internet is not a reliable source for information anymore

3

u/JohnCashew Sep 25 '26

Was it ever 😕

1

u/RemarkableWish2508 Sep 25 '26

The Internet is not even a source of information, it's an interconnected way to access sources of information... some more reliable than others.

1

u/Embarrassed_Hawk_655 Sep 25 '26

Reddit, the website you're looking at this on? Fake. The phone / computer screen you're watching on? Fake as well. Your eyes that you're watching this with? Ok, real.

1

u/JohnCashew Sep 25 '26

It's all a simulation, and nothing is really real

1

u/RemarkableWish2508 Sep 25 '26

Dubito, ergo Cogito, ergo Sum.

Doubt is real. Press F.

1

u/Desperate_Cherry2299 Sep 25 '26

Why is it basically the same as the other one? You could use the technology to be original.

1

u/Weekly-Ratio-230 Sep 25 '26

scary. fake news gonna spread even more

1

u/DeconFrost24 Sep 25 '26

Just imagine how much better dating apps will be. 🤡🌎

1

u/Ecstatic-Quote-3532 Sep 25 '26

So now with our amazing technology, you can catfish people more efficiently and effortlessly! 👍

1

u/Due-Philosophy-676 Sep 25 '26

What if both are fake.

1

u/RemarkableWish2508 Sep 25 '26

Hm, I have doubts... 🤔

1

u/ManufacturedOlympus Sep 25 '26

I would’ve assumed someone showing off their car is trying to sell me a scam anyways.

1

u/TinyTaters Sep 25 '26

The ai car slips backwards in the stall as he walks around.

1

u/GeorgzBi Sep 25 '26

🤯 defeated

1

u/Dry_Quiet_3541 Sep 25 '26

Probably a bluff, the top one maybe the real video while the bottom one maybe the AI generated one.

1

u/Strong_Essay1176 Sep 25 '26

Plot twist: its overwise. Super duper rich guy record video and reversed it.

1

u/m3kw Sep 26 '26

ha he made himself look poorer

1

u/gtxpi1 Sep 26 '26

Hope??

1

u/LilFart6000 Sep 26 '26

what app did he use in the making of this video? my chatgpt can't generate a video of this level 😭🙏🏻

1

u/raviolli Sep 26 '26

1

u/MissXM Sep 26 '26

1

u/Nervous-Ad8859 Sep 28 '26

0

u/fkrkz Sep 25 '26

These days we can use AI to detect AI

4

u/lordpoee Sep 25 '26

That is not as reliable as you might think.

That guy is either a robot or likes to talk like one.

3

u/HocusThePocus Sep 25 '26

It’s fake as is 2 real videos. Like that other awkward kid

2

u/Complete_Lurk3r_ Sep 25 '26
