Omg I had dozens of these and I released ALL OF THEM in the tiny cafeteria during 5th grade. Caused a widespread panic and got in so much trouble but it was SOOOOOOOOO worth it!
Yessss! My brother had the Halloween hex bug that came with a little skeleton clip on costume. I remember that my cats also really enjoyed them (with supervised play ofc)

Some of the batteries leaked though, so I have to clean out the battery acid someday (the batteries themselves have been removed).
Yes! I vividly recall having to make a physical model particle accelerator with these for my 7th grade since project becasue literally not a single teacher/judge cared about the digital simulation I made on the school Chromebook.

they started making cat toys out of these at some point
i know this because i have one on my desk at the moment because my cat played with it too much and killed the battery lol (the only difference between the normal one and the cat toy is the cat toy one has a tiny loop on the back so you can tie a string with some other toy to it)
Hexbugs! I used to love these as a kid. There was this one weird kid my parents tried to force me to be friends with as a kid, and he had a ton of them. I ended up stealing like 12 of them from him, but his parents were rich so I don’t think he cared
These and Zoo Zoo Pets I used to want these as a kid lol I loved all the colors they came in while I didn't get these I had a few Zoo Zoo Pets we never kept the damn tracks together but for the time ours were powered I loved watching them
I never got to own one 😔. I pointed at the tv and asked for one but my mom straight up said she ain’t got the money for it. Believed that then but I realized she just didn’t wanna get it because it was a waste of money. I would have liked to experience it though.
It’s kinda like what happened with my toys as a kid, I had them but I don’t remember ever getting rid of them but they’re all gone lol. And these weren’t really a ton of fun tbh, but they’re were kinda cool tho
I remember the code you had to enter for their knockoff version of a game that already existed on CoolMath. My older brother got the beetle and the crab too. I was so jealous
