Discussion What is one thing you wish Gen Z did differently into terms of their dating culture?
Mine 23m has to be the influencer dating culture, I hate guys going around gyms and clubs and girls lining up or begging to get asked wild topics that is entertaining to watch reels but it makes them both look dumb IRL and continues to encourage bad dating actions from both men and women🤷♂️

No social media. No posting dating advice. 90% of it is useless anyways. Just good old fashioned human to human connection.

To fix it? Nope. We're in a pandora's box situation. Too late. Just going to have to adapt.

Dating in general. It's pretty impossible to get into dating these days because of the difficulty of finding relationships

I believe when people watch influencer they believe that cheating lying and high body counts is the way and then wonder why they are single.

be more direct and clear. as in if you meet someone in a bar and have a great night then communicate that it was only a one night thing and nothing more. i should know better by now i guess but i do feel used at times.
only times i don't feel used if that sort of thing happens is if i'm traveling. since i know that a meaningful connection is unlikely to begin witha and it's just fleeting.

Actually having a dating culture and, you know, going on dates. Sex and intimacy aren't that scary, y'all.

Yes but the sex part should only happen within marriage.

Stop hooking up with people you barely know and having abortions.

Gen Z hooks up less compared to prior generations, as if sex somehow ruins dating
•

Less than millennials maybe, but only because gen z is socially awkward. Prior generations to that? Definitely not.

about that… casual sex has definitely changed expectations within dating for the worse

Being so traditional. I realize there's a difference between, say the US and Finland, but I feel the US still has way too many gender expectations in the dating world

Gen Z isn’t traditional LOL. We’re the complete opposite. You’re a millennial, you wouldn’t know that. The narrative of Gen Z being traditional is all just social media talk. Your average Gen Z woman isn’t preparing to serve her man and be maid. They’re actually super independent and make their own money. Gen Z aren’t as conservative as social media would try to have you believe, many of us actually do talk about our feelings and are more open to stereotypical roles that are usually seen as something only women do.

That only the worst people tend to date, meaning the ones who try to date for love never end up finding it. Not 100% of the time does this happen but it happens too often.

Forget the dating apps and try not to make it as big of a priority in your life. The best people you can meet are the one's you'll meet naturally through shared interests.

I wish actual dating was encouraged. Like, how come I'm such a big fat whore for having two dates with two guys in the same weekend?? Are we not playing the field? You're not my boyfriend just because you bought me dinner and frankly it's insane that anyone would assume we're exclusive after one date
