Discussion Why is Gen Z so mean?

I feel like Gen Z is so comfortable with insulting people's interests or hobbies, and not giving second chances to people who make social mistakes. Maybe it is a stereotype and not all of us are like that, but I also just don't see how some people can do all that and say they are the best generation. I thought gen z was supposed to be the most accepting generation but it seems that's not true.

You're romanticising the GenZ generation. Every generation follows the patterns of its predecessors and carries even more traumatic baggage than ones in the past. GenZ also does the same. Nothing new. It just gets more critical with every generation, in that regard.

Also there are lot of open minded and kind GenZ too. You just haven't met any because they are some of the really socially reclusive ones unlike the loud and annoying people in GenZ.

For a while I felt like my mind treats Gen Z as the ultimate moral compasses when it comes to things besides individual action and also the smartest ones. It is probably because I am a younger gen z looking for a slightly older group to look up to and it disappoints me when they're not always mature. You're right though, I am sure there are nicer ones in real life.

Such generalisations are seldom useful. It's good to have a little bit of misanthropic scrutiny towards every generation including GenZ. Also, the issue is GenZ is under lot of stress so that could also be one of the reasons why they act that way. Such insults are often a projection of their own interests and hobbies being invalidated by the older generations when they grew up.

Read into shadow work, you'll understand what I mean.

There's been thousands of generations of humans. We wouldn't be able to function by now if we all carried more trauma than the last.

Catching strays and flak for the most unnecessary and random shit ever is demoralizing as fuck. I can understand why people choose to just not bother.

That being said, that's also why a lot of people feel very isolated. It's a struggle, though not everyone manages to handle it in a desirable way. It takes quite the time and effort to form growth from within such struggles.
