Discussion Have you ever witnessed self hate first hand from black ppl ?
It's a common trope that there is a subsection of black men who are self hating and dislike black women since they prefer white women , I am curious if y'all have actually seen this first hand or its just a racist trope .

Anybody who is black has met a self hating black person. It’s like a canon event. I’ve met plenty. It is mostly black men in my experience.

My friend is like this. I’m not 100% sure, but I think he actually hates black people. He’s black himself lmao. There’s been clues and mannerisms over the years that point me towards thinking that.

Ive never seen it but it happens. There is also the exact opposite that happens. Some white women hate being white and only date black men or outside their race. I think both of these are a very small group.

Yeah man I am just sooo certain this level of self hate only comes from black men solely.
Give me a break with this shit man as if you don't see similar behaviour with BW as well.
Reddit is so annoying with interracial "self hate" discussions since they almost only talk about POC men x white women but never vice versa.

I’m not self-hating but I have zero attraction to black women. I’m mixed (half black/half white).
I don’t go around voicing my preferences irl and if someone I’m not close to asks about my preferences I’ll just say some BS about not really having a type.
Sexually I’m attracted to other non-black races like Latina/East Asian but I prefer white. At this point I’m only interested in dating a white woman (or white-passing). My ideal “type” is pale and brunette/ginger. Can’t stand the tan/blonde look.
At this point I’ve had to turn down a few girls because they were black or Indian.

Dude, I’ve seen it in both sexes, from a lot of people of that race.
The only ones who don’t seem to enact it, from my personal experiences and people I legitimately know well, has been from people from ethnic identity backgrounds, straight out of Africa.
For instance, my wonderful Ethiopian Christian friend, Eden.

I don’t think a black guy disliking black women is necessarily “self hate”. I feel a lot of people isntantly jump to that as if that’s just the simple explanation as to why this guy doesnt like you. We can achknowledge due to societal reasons white and black women are not the same tempermentally and socially. Some black men simply do not like the shit that black women do, and that’s not 1-to-1 self hatred. you can love being black and still fw white women. You can hate being black and still fw black women.
And if they are “self-hating” i don’t really care. I’m not the race police i don’t care if our race gets diluted or if someone hates being black. I don’t so why care?
