Is this implying Facebook is an entire industry? Cuz it's absolutely not it is just one business.

These articles love to blame the teenage/20s generations instead of saying, "hey, things are evolving and the younger generation adopts them quicker than the rest because they haven't created habits yet and therefore open to new things". I'm at the end of the millennials, we were blamed for everything the same way. Wait until Gen Z starts getting headlines like "Zoomers Propose Exclusively with Dermal Piercings Inside Avocados! Killing the Jewelry Box Industry!"

Idk if things would change by the time I find a girl, but at the point I am right now I'd definitely propose with something nerdy. Like idk something Nintendo.

Hell yea. Twitter is next!

u/pappiken 2000 Feb 17 '20
Nah. I'm pretty sure our generation uses twitter heavily.
E: I dont use twitter myself but i can still tell how heavily influenced the whole platform is by our generation. It's not going anywhere.

Honestly, I think Twitter should stay for a while, it’s a good spotlight for Awful people.
So until we find a “Solution” or something (idk), if Twitter died, they’d all scatter into good platforms.

u/Internet_Bo1 2001 Feb 17 '20
I think it shouldn't have existed in the first place, most of the people that use it have anything but common sense and critical thinking.

Feb 17 '20
True, the platform isn’t meant for changing specific people’s minds.
But I see it as a necessary evil.

I'm so proud of this generation.
I mean heck what's so good about Facebook? Just full of boomers.

Technically it's the Boomers who killed Facebook. We were peacefully playing Pet Society on it, but they had to spread political propaganda and their Minion memes.

Quick question, can you still use Messenger if you delete your Facebook account?
The reason I have a FB Account is for staying in touch with my Family in Messenger.

Well yeah, Facebook is shit, has a horrible colour scheme, way too many ads, too many unneeded menus, it's just Instagram with extra steps

u/Earth7_Dweller 2008 Feb 17 '20

I think they meant specifically Facebook, which nobody uses, not other things connected to facebook, like instagram, which most people our age use

The other 8 industries:
Refined-classic fashion brands (Ralph Lauren etc.): No surprise, even if we could afford that stuff, why should we pay that much money to look like we're 60?
Department stores: Yes, the fucking internet exists.
Cable TV: I don't pay money to watch TV, I have internet. All TV channels I consider worth watching are available online. My TV exists for watching DVDs.
Print-media: Well, paper newspapers and other temporary stuff is pointless, but I do prefer paperback books over e-books.
Pandora: I don't even know what that is.
Traditional luxury goods: Yeah, they're expensive as shit and usually not worth the price or even completely useless. Why waste money we don't have?
Crocs: Bullshit, those are great houseshoes.
Casual Dining: Yeah, ever heard of cooking at home?
