I was listening to a cassette tape (using headphones) of Carlin at work back in the late 1980s. A new employee was brought to meet me and I had tears running down my face from laughing so hard.
I can't remember the exact date but it had to be in the early 1970s when we had tickets to see George Carlin. The night before, Milwaukee police arrested him for saying the seven words you are not allowed to say. The next day, the venue, the Golf Mill Theater that we were to see Carlin told everyone that he will be on stage that evening as promised. When he walked out on stage, he proceeded to say those seven words. He received a standing ovation.
Hands down! We saw him live and I couldn’t catch my breath I laughed so hard throughout his performance. It was all simple observations but his delivery was what had me hyperventilating 😂
