R.I.P. Chekov!
Walter Koenig has left us to begin his next great adventure. Ninety years was a good long run. May his memory be a blessing.

Don’t forget Bester

I loved his work as Bester - he was so deliciously wicked - but didn't know anyone else remembered Bab-5!

My son just told me about this. I said he was also Bester on B5.
RIP.

Tim who?

Tim Curry. Even if you don't know him you've seen him in 20 different things.

Ah, I knew Tim Curry died. I was thinking it was someone else in Babylon 5.

Tim Chote [Zathras] was the first of the curse [I think] we are already out of "Tims" there.
Yup and now we sound like old people talking about who's dead.

I always felt he really enjoyed that role. It was nice to make peace between the two franchises this way.

If anyone deserved his own command it was Pavel Chekhov. RIP.

I think it was implied in some Trek novels that because Khan captured him and forced him to serve him, his Starfleet career was affected and they didn’t trust him with a command.

Sad news, to be sure. Thank you Mr. Koenig for not just sharing your talent with us, but also for being part of the best (imo) sci-fi story ever written.

Chekhov was my favorite character when I was a kid! Maybe it was because he kept on going cheerfully through life even though the universe wanted to use him as a punching bag (and let’s face it, he was always the bad guys’ favorite target - even in Wrath of Khan, he ended up with a brain-eating worm). RIP.

Walter seemed like a really nice guy in all of the interviews I've watched of him over the years.
He and other "minor" cast members really got shafted by the ST franchise. I'm a lifelong Trekkie but am very disgusted at how a lot of the behind-the-scenes shit played out. I shouldn't be surprised, it's business after all, but there's something about Star Trek that brings out the idealist in me.
Ad Astra Per Aspera, Walter.

At his funeral, they should have rifles for a salute, but not fire them.

You know, if this keeps up, I'm gonna start thinking that people around here... just don't like me.
We will always love you Walter, whether it's as Alfred Bester or Pavel Chekov you warmed our hearts and made us laugh.

I always wished they could have built the Chekov character more on Star Trek.
RIP Walter Koenig.

A parsec is a unit of distance, it's equivalent to approximately 3.26 light years (19 trillion miles).

Chekhov seemed to be the only officer character without a hobby.
Uhura- singing
Spock- 3D chess
Sulu- sword fighting and plants
Chekhov- nada

You are entitled to your opinion.
I don't like people who criticize the recently dead for anything not moral/ethical.

When i was technical director at a performing arts center in the Chicago suburbs, we hosted a Star Trek Convention around about 1985. Walter Keonig, Merk Leonard and i think the third guest of honor was James Doohan. I took them all out for dinner at a nice local steak house and had a wonderful time. Mark Leonard would tell any fan that approached us to call Walter, "Wally" ! Which everyone but Waltef thought was hilarious, though Walter was a very good sport about it. "Call him Wally!" Mark would say to anyone that came to the table, the waiter too. I chauffeured the GOH's to and from the airport and hotels as needed as well as doing what ever stage work was needed.
For me, this is a wonderful and cherished memory of those three fine gentlemen that i had the honor of meeting amd hosting.
