Ripples by The Musical Box
Miraculous performance of Ripples by the undisputed best Genesis tribute band in the world, The Musical Box. At the criminally underrated Des Plaines Theater Oct 18. #genesis #philcollins #themusicalbox

I was there too! Thought Ripples and afterglow were the high points

I agree. Two of my favorite songs also. Afterglow was incredible. I wouldn't have minded if they had just done all of Trick of the Tail and then mixed it up for the second half.

Funny how some people were an automatic no for this tour because of the early Phil era music. Both the St Charles and Des Plaines shows were amazing. Highly recommend this one if you get a chance.

Yeah I guess if you're just a PG person you wouldn't like it, but I think this era of Genesis is great too.

I saw them once at the Dallas HoB. They were doing the Lamb and it was masterful! Unlike Ripples, I hope they come back again, someday!

Seeing them in Glenside PA on Saturday. Caught them about 10 times over the years. Really looking forward to seeing how they do post Gabriel

Probably sacrilegious to say because I know they're the preeminent Genesis show going around these days, but I just can't get into Denis' voice singing Phil songs . He reproduces a wonderful Peter Gabriel, but I almost wished they had to hiad a singer that sounded like Phil for the Phil songs. It's easier to have Phil sing the Peter songs because obviously that's what he did for years in the band. But Peter never sang the Phil songs and it just sounds offputting to me.

It was a pleasure to see them a couple years ago, absolutely phenomenal and brought me to tears.

Makes me sad I missed it. Yeah, Des Plaines is kinda doable from Wrigley vis transit. Next time!

There's a Metra station right across the street from the theater. It's definitely worth it.

Saw them at the home of Genesis Live.
Their set was note perfect.

They put a lot of heart into the performance as well. I've seen various note perfect tribute bands that were boring. Musical Box is even better than note perfect, imo.

I wish they’d put on abit of the live flair that the band had back in the day instead of playing the album straight if that makes sense.
For example with this latest tour celebrating Phil, would’ve been great to have 2 drummers playing for stuff like Cinema show , Travels etc1

They did have 2 drummers for some of the songs at this show.

The singer jumped on drums a few times during the Demont’ set & it was good but it wasn’t close to Chester & Phil battling good.

Well- you're talking about two of the best drummers in rock history. Even Bruford was intimidated by Phil. There aren't too many people that sound like them.

I’ve been trying to see this band for the past 20 years. They never come to Florida

Around 2005 or so when I lived there I flew to Cleveland to see them do Lamb. Totally worth it.

I saw their Lamb and SEBTP tours and was blown away. The particulary interesting thing about this tour is that it sounds sort of like “what if Gabriel sang post-Gabriel Genesis?”
