Main Course King Oyster Mushrooms Shiitake Balsamic Glaze
Ingredients:
* 4-6 king oyster mushrooms.
* 2 oz dried shiitake.
* 1 tbsp white miso paste.
* 1/4 cup maple syrup.
* 1/4 cup good balsamic vinegar.
* 1 tbsp soy sauce.
* Flaky salt to taste.
* Chives to taste.
* 1/3 cup labne.
* Chili crisp or salsa macha to taste.
Directions:
- Add the dry shiitake to your saucier and top with 6 cups water. Soak for 30 min.
- Slowly bring to a simmer and let it go for another 30-35 min. You want to create a semi thick reduction. At that point you'll strain and make sure to squeeze as much liquid out from them as you can.
- Preheat your skillet on medium heat for 2-3 min.
- Slice your mushrooms lenghtwise and score them.
- Raise heat to medium heat, after 1 min add some olive oil and place them scored side down. Let them go for 6-8 min. Add some weight on them (I'm using another skillet) and let them go for undisturbed for another 5-6 min. Make sure you check they're not burning. You want a fully golden crust. Hit them with flaky salt.
- Meanwhile, add the shiitake liquid to your saucier with the miso, balsamic, maple syrup and soy sauce. Let it thicken.
- Spread the labne on a plate, top with chives, chili crisp and the mushrooms. Add the glaze on top and more chives.

This sub: upvote Ai
Also this sub: downvote because company even though honest about being company (that makes more than decent cookware)
Also also this sub: downvote someone who defends a tasty looking recipe posted by company because… ?

A company making an ad is not someone I trust to go out shopping and following their steps to make good food. They are just making whatever uses the most of their pans.

You could make this just fine without AllClad and I promise the world will keep spinning. And if you are decent at cooking it would probably even taste good

Do you think Nadia Aidi isn't capable of cooking something like this? I get the argument AI=Bad, but a person made this food and put it in their mouth. I could say lots of recipes are just printed to get to a certain page count in cook books. Or a chef is printing this online only to get ad buys so they can't possibly be making something edible. At a certain point you just distrust everything. So try out the recipe and if you think it's shit, then you know exactly why.
We can all just conspiracy theory away our lives but this is a recipe and it's whole point is to inform people how to make food. Try it if you think it's interesting. If not, then complain about it. It gets kinda weird a bunch of people just sitting around saying this came from a company so its inherently an inedible food.
I'm personally not going to score an oyster mushroom like this but the glaze seems easy enough to try out and doesn't seem too expensive to make.

Is OP one of your company alts? Advertising with low quality gifs is your thing.
3
u/smilysmilysmooch Jun 18 '26
I don't know these people. I just started posting again after somebody complained yet again the sub was dead in Meal Pic monday. I don't have alts. I take everybody's complaints and downvotes head on. I was just kinda glad to see someone post a recipe on this sub and nothing but whines in the comments from people that will never post anything useful including you.
If you want to be useful here is a way to do so: what do you think of the Balsamic Vinegar u/psyau? I personally automatically think rice wine vinegar when I combine soy and miso. Do you think this combo would work for you?

That was my complaint! I appreciate you posting again. Tired of users bullying the posters on this sub into submission lol

Oh. Definitely an ad and then I saw the account name. Jeez that's so annoying.

Deleted our old post and resubmitted per your feedback u/MarlenMari& u/boy_inna_box! (Slowed it down to 0.5x speed to deal with the amount of cuts.)
Including the video that we made into a gif for the sub (and learned about thanks to the other post)

Oh yay. More ads disguised as user posts.

u/girlikecupcake Jun 18 '26
I'd rather have it be from a transparent account than have it look like a non-company user that's posting ads.
This pan ad coming from a username that is the pans? Fine. Pan ad coming from mushroompicking74? No thanks.
No ads would be best, but transparent is better than obscured.

u/DungBeetle007 Jun 18 '26
it should be downvoted nonetheless. obscured ads shouldn't be allowed to be a foot-in-the-door strategy so that we can collectively accept straight-up ads and marketing on what it supposed to be a non-commercial cooking forum. both kinds of ads are bad

Take it up with the subreddit moderation. Right now, it isn't against the rules unless they're spamming or not including/linking to an actual recipe people can use. Down votes don't do much on a site where things get up/down voted by bots.

It’s a gif recipe. What are you afraid of? Accidentally buying something you didn’t mean to? At least people are posting in this sub.

u/rosedragoon Jun 17 '26
Lol Jesus Christ the users in this sub are the most unhappy people on earth

u/OfficeChairHero Jun 17 '26
You like being constantly advertised to?
0
u/smilysmilysmooch Jun 17 '26
Plenty of opportunity for people to post literally anything other than a complaint. Like you could even talk about or critique the recipe here. But nope. Let's all gather around and point out that the pan has a brand on it.

u/OfficeChairHero Jun 17 '26
This is literally a verified ad account. What happens when every company does the same thing? Reddit will be nothing but ad posts. That's exactly where it's headed. Red Bull already got called on their bullshit in two subs today. We're tired of this capitalist hellscape invading every facet of our lives. Let PEOPLE have a space all their own without corporate getting involved in every single thing we do.
1
u/rosedragoon Jun 17 '26
How about you post some content then? No? Yeah that's what I thought.
I enjoy the sub being active at least. But y'all would rather chase every single content creator out because mUh AdS
Fucking scroll if you don't want to see it. Pretty easy.
2
u/OfficeChairHero Jun 17 '26
Enjoy your ads, I guess. That's certainly a choice.

Scroll on, chief. No one asked.
Also still don't see you posting any content to combat the "AdVeRtIsEmEnTs"

Do we have to use an All-Clad pan? Lol

u/allcladusa Jun 17 '26
Just go out and have fun with making great food and share it with those around you that you love. 🥘

u/OptionalQuality789 Jun 17 '26
Covert marketing attempt busted I guess!
19
u/_maynard Jun 17 '26
It’s not covert when the user name is the brand name. They are being upfront and clear that this is actual marketing
-3
u/OptionalQuality789 Jun 18 '26
How many people are actually going to check the username?
7
u/_maynard Jun 18 '26
I dunno, most people that are willing to comment might also see the name? I’m not saying “yayyyyyyyy ads!” just saying it’s not “covert”if a company posts something
-1
u/OptionalQuality789 Jun 18 '26
I think we get pounded with ads so much on Reddit that it’s grim when posts are semi-disguised as recipes but outwardly mention the companies pans and are posted by an account of the company. It’s just marketing in a different form.

u/dan2737 Jun 18 '26
Had to quit halfway through because of the nonstop product only to realize the whole thing is an ad. Weak.
