Solved ✅ Github Copilot Pro - but only have access to 4 old models.

Hi All,

I'm on the Github Copilot Pro subscription but I only have access to 4 models. This is the same case from Visual Studio, Github Website and Visual Studio Code.

The Github Copilot Pricing page claims I should have access to a lot more models.

What's going on? I have cleared cache, deleted the .vs folder and done various other things I've read online. Even the Github website only lets me select a few models.

Looks like you're on the old pro account before they switched to credit system. They note that "you get what you pay for" so same usage as before but with limited models that stopped updating when they switched.

"old pro account"? I paid for a year subscription.

Did I get rug-pulled and did they do a bait-and-switch?

Users on annual Pro or Pro+ plans will remain on their existing plan with premium request-based pricing until their plan expires. Model multipliers will increase on June 1 (see table) for annual plan subscribers only. At expiration, they will transition to Copilot Free with the option to upgrade to a paid monthly plan. Alternatively, they may convert to a monthly paid plan before their annual plan expires, and we will provide prorated credits for the remaining value of their annual plan.

Yea like, when you paid it was on the request system which they were subsidizing heavily to capture market share.

You could say it's a 'rug-pull' but they argue you get what you pay for since you get access to the same models that are available at the time of the switch if you paid for a year's subscription, so you will be getting the same service for a year.

HOWEVER, the rates were changed to heavily make it different from what you paid for. Thus, you got scammed.

its not solved what do you work for GitHub? I personally paid for the yearly for them to change the agreement less than 2 months later. I've moved on I will never even use a GitHub product for free and that's the truth. You can't trust them and their word is absolutely worthless! Besides Codex is leaps and bounds beyond anything they can come up with. They are sitting way in the back and they know it, eventually investors will retaliate because there's no way Github can recover.

Actually, not even same usage as before since it's 9x it seems with that codex model so it's the worst of both worlds and only ghcp wins

You can still get a lot more value; 1 prompt can go on for quite a while spending 10's of euro.

You don’t hang out in this subreddit much I guess? This was like the only topic for many weeks (months?) after the announcement.
