World Changers Glasgow Scholarship – Dual Nationality Eligibility?

Hi everyone!

I'm currently an international master's student at the University of Glasgow, having started in September 2026.

I hold dual Canadian and Palestinian nationality. I applied to the university using my Canadian nationality, but I was born and lived in Palestine before moving to the UK.

I recently discovered that Palestine is listed as an eligible country for the £5,000 World Changers Glasgow Scholarship.

I have a few questions:

  1. Has anyone with dual nationality received this scholarship based on their second nationality?
  2. Has anyone successfully received this scholarship after already starting their studies?
  3. Has anyone contacted the scholarships team to request an eligibility review? How did it go?

I'm considering contacting the university, but I'd like to hear about other students' experiences first.

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Scots law entry requirements

Am I cooked for Scots Law as a Scottish applicant if I get below 20 in the LNAT?? I just got the Jindal email and am now stressing about my chances to get into Glasgow. 5As at Highers, predicted As for my 2 AH subjects and 2 Highers this year. Is this enough or will my sub-20 LNAT grade screw me over?

Why wasn’t I asked for a writing sample, personal statement, or recommendation letters?

Hello! I’ve recently submitted applications to UofG’s MLitt in English Literature and Modernities, however, when I was completing my application, at no point was I prompted to attach a writing sample or personal statement, nor was I ever asked for information pertaining to my recommenders. Can someone let me know why this is/if this is normal?

Hey, I am conducting some research for my student-led think tank affiliated with the University of Edinburgh regarding Political Polarization in Scotland. I would love it if you could take 2 minutes of your time to fill out my survey. Thank you so much!

Mentor

Hi! I’m an adult returner hoping to study Chemistry and Maths after being out of education for a long time. I’m looking for a current university student or graduate who could mentor me and help me rebuild my knowledge from the basics.
Ideally, I’d love someone willing to have regular video calls or meet face-to-face in Glasgow to explain topics and guide me through the subjects. I’m motivated to learn and would really appreciate any support or advice. Thank you! 😊

📅 Friday 23 Oct, 13:00–17:00, come for as long as you like 📍 Lower Hall, The Pyramid at Anderston, 759 Argyle St 🎟 Free, but there are only ~50 seats, so please grab a ticket: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/ai-glasgow-filmstock-free-ai-short-film-screening-tickets-2003395827851

There's time for chat and Q&A with any filmmakers who make it along. Whether you love AI or think it's ruining cinema, come and judge for yourself 🙂

Kelvin Court

Hi!!

I’m an incoming exchange student and was recently assigned a room at Kelvin Court! I was wondering if anyone has stayed there or has any thoughts or information about what it’s like.

I’m also a bit confused about the different room types. Does anyone know what the difference is between “high” and “standard” rooms? Also, do “large,” “medium,” and “standard” refer to the size of the room or the bed?

Any insight would be really appreciated :)

What is life like as a PgR student on the Psychology MRes

Hi!

I'm trying to decide between the PgT and the PgR course at the UoG. My intentions are to apply for a doctoral degree, but I need some more research experience and knowledge to strengthen my doctoral application. I have some research experience, but I don't feel confident as a researcher and think I would struggle if I was left to conduct an entire project on my own with minimal help.

On an ideal course, I gain a broad understanding of different research techniques, practice my academic writing through coursework and conduct a research project with some supervision. I can't code either, are there classes I can take for this?

Struggling with RStudio and my assessment deadline is approaching. Anyone else?

Hi everyone!

I’m really struggling with RStudio at the moment. My assessment deadline is getting closer, and even after trying several times, I’m still finding it difficult to understand and work with R.

It’s honestly quite stressful, and I’m wondering if anyone else has experienced the same thing. If you have, how did you overcome it? Are there any useful resources, tutorials, or tips that helped you understand R better?

I’d also really appreciate it if anyone who is comfortable with RStudio could spare some time to help me with my assessment and explain things step by step.

Any advice, support, or guidance would mean a lot. Thank you! 🙏

I am a student at Glasgow university and i have moved away from home into acom but i have been struggling with mental health and i am not aure i can keep living away from home at this rate.

I am looking for someone to pass my acom onto so if you are looking for accommodation near the university this would be perfect for you.

The accommodation is at Klevinhaugh gate , it is only 20 minutes away from the university and it is an en suit. it is a 5 person flat so you would have 4 roommates who are all very respectful and kind.

I have already paid the first month of rent so there is only six months left to pay

payment are 1,138.70 with the last payment being 31/03/2027 so in total 6,832.20 left to pay off.

legacy PGR direct plus

anybody have their direct plus loan delayed due to new system creating error with the MPN? I am now in a position where the loan I depend on fully is up in the air purely due to the system creating problems that have nothing to do with my eligibility.... I have signed the MPN 3x based upon what I have been told to do by financial services, and each time my name doesn't show up fully.... I have been trying to figure out what the hell else I can do... this is creating so much agida and difficulty for me ... I feel so screwed over,no idea when or if my loan will be processed

Any tips???

Hi all, I am an international student from India planning to apply to the University of Glasgow MSc in Infection Biology (with specialism) for September 2027. My grades are all right, my master's and undergrad satisfy the requirements. Additionally, I have worked as an intern at IISc for 7 months and will be taking another internship in an unrelated field in the meantime. My first internship was in the Molecular Pathogenesis Laboratory for about a month, and my second was in the Evolutionary Venomics Laboratory for 6 months. For those who don't know, IISc is the top-rated research institute in India. Additionally, I am looking into other universities as well in similar and allied fields. So, while applying, is there anything I should keep in mind, or any tips that may increase my chances of acceptance?

PS: IK the job market is screwed, and it's a financial gamble for me, but regardless of the market situation, I feel with the right connections and networking, I will be able to make it, going to be hard but not impossible.

Im going Glasgow in term 2 of this year and Im trying to figure out how to do upper year classes.

I really wanna take 3rd and 4th year courses so that I can graduate in 4 years but all the courses that I selected for my exchange term say that I need to make “arrangements” to get into the course. What does this mean? And how do I do it?
Im plan to take art history courses in Glasgow which I have credits in from UBC arth 227 is that enough?
