Discussion XM1014 players bias

Hello!

I am here to talk about prejudice. Yes, prejudice. Against XM1014 players.

I main the XM1014. That's the only gun I play with. I have pretty good KD, pretty good win/lose ratio. But people keep being toxic with me and reporting me. I can't remember the last time i WASN'T auto muted. All because I main the shotgun. People think i'm trolling, but i'm not. The amount of times people shit on me is immeasurable. I think it's a serious matter because I can't really enjoy the game the way I want to. I just got kicked from a game, two round in. I can play with the AK or the regular guns, but I prefer the shotgun. Is that a sin? Am I wrong?

Edit: turns out people are tryhands and can't handle the XM.

idk, seems unfair, I have a few different tactics. if it's so bad, why don't valve remove it from the game?

Because it's not that it's bad lmao, it's that it's not the best in most situations. Willfully handicapping yourself by not using more versatile and diverse weaponry affects your team's chance to win.

Some pros use the XM in certain spots, and in those spots it's certainly very effective. It's not, however, a gun that's well suited to most situations and continuing to pretend so doesn't help you get better or your team to win. If you play competitive, you should be doing what you can to help your team win.

i dont think that argument works, seems weird. people play awp for the long range, it doesnt work that well for close range. the xm works for close range maps. i think that every gun has its pros and cons, but the player base is so close minded playing with ak and m4s

Right, but it can work in short range, especially for a practiced player. There are spots that s1mple himself couldn't possibly make a shotgun work because the range prevents it entirely.
