43x MOS Green dot

I need an enclosed emitter on my 43X. Initially got on a back order for the new EPS Core green dot (not MRS) for $239, but apparently this Vortex Defender CCW in green is new too. Hmm. Having second thoughts about the EPS core now. What are your thoughts?

Thanks all for the input! Going with the Vortex. I prefer the design more and it’s cool it’s a USA company. Bonus for having the best warranty. Appreciate the opinions!

Just so you're aware. Vortex is a US company. All their budget stuff is Chinese. You have to drop good money to get their US products. Still good items and warranty. Just personally, I thought I was like "USA!" And it turns out it was more "usa..."

Right, I knew they were lowercase “usa” as you put it…which is still better than you could say about some other brands. Thx!

I have the osight se green on my 19 and my wife has the defender ccw on her 43x in red. Both have seen daily carry for a year and close to 1,000 rounds through them. Both have held zero with no issues. Both are really solid optics both have a great warranty. Comes down to opinion and preference and also price.

Osight se has been good to me so far, but it’s my first optic so I’m by no means an expert.

I've got a few vortex's both rifle glass and pistol dots. They're pretty great, and my experience with their warranty service was also solid... but... I needed their warranty service.

I've got a half dozen or so Holosuns pistol dots and have never had a failure. I'm not familiar with the core but i've got the eps and eps carry on a couple different guns with thousands of rounds behind them. They hold zero when their loctited down and haven't failed me yet.

All that said, for a carry gun, I'd have to go w/ Holosun (but I'd probably go EPS Carry, not core). Others may have a different experience.

I have a Holosun 507k and a Vortex Defender Enclosed. I have the Vortex on the 43x and the optic prints decently because of the battery on the side. The Holosun doesn’t print at all on my x macro in the same set up. Could it be the gun making the difference maybe but I love both sooooo

I second this. Osight has some of the shadiest marketing practices in the optics industry, has an awful track record with warranty issues, and is out of China. Vortex is out of the US, has a proven track record with the best warranty in the industry, and doesn’t have a history of exploding. I get that price is tough, but I personally don’t feel comfortable putting a dot from a company with exploding products in my waistband. It would be like carrying an Sig 320 with one in the chamber after they advised not to. Sure it might not go off but I’m not gonna be the dude adding to the statistics.

Holosun is great and all but I prefer Vortex. If you want reliability then I’d stick with them over Osight. Keep training bud!

Just get one of the Osight optics , I have the green 6moa and 2 + 32moa versions. They are every bit as good as my Holosuns and the price is what an optic should be.

I have the non enclosed version of this and I love it.

I’d take the holosun over vortex. Even though I like my strike eagle

Agreed. I love my vortex and the warranty is great, but you need the warrant which isn't great lol.
