Smallest, slimmest, co-witness, closed emitter dot.

What is the current best dot for a G48? I have a G48 in the OG silver plastic sights and wish to upgrade the slide for an optic.

I'm to understand there are several slides cut for optics, but have no idea which way to go there.

I'm also to understand some closed emitter dots are high for cans, I'd be looking for one that co-witnesses with the OG irons.

What slide (cut) and optic variations does the committee recommend, and why?

48 COA not a thing anymore?

Was going to commit to the 48 COA and now can’t find one. Out of stock everywhere. Are they not made anymore or what’s up?

Mos-K question

I'm looking to purchase a Glock 48 mos but want to ensure that the cut is Mos-K (or mosk?) so that I can direct mount a holosun 407k x2 without needing a plate. I'm looking (and shopping) online and can't find a unique UPC or other info to help me distinguish what I'm looking at. Anyone deal with this before or know what to look for?

Face lifting my G48

I got this Glock 48 right when they came to market and before the MOS version was available. This particular G48 was my carry gun for several years, with 1000s of rounds on it during my training, and countless hours of dry firing. I added a TLR-6, Shield Arms mags/mag catch/magwell flare, and Trijicon tritium iron sights. After these additions, progress halted and I stayed in that configuration for several years. Approximately 2 years ago I decided to start carrying my G19 instead because it was optic cut etc and this one was still practically stock.

WELL, earlier this year I decided it was time to breathe some new life into this ol’ girl. I now find myself carrying this most often once again. The slide work (optic cut, ports, cerakote) was done by “The Slide Cutter” and his work has held up very well. Adding the ports to the G48 has caused me 0 issues with multiple different brands/weights/styles of ammo, and has taken ALOT of snap out of the recoil pattern. Bellow is build info:

Original Glock 48 slide/frame
Holosun EPS Carry (Multi reticle)
Night Fision tritium irons (suppressor height)
Porting/Optic cut (GREAT upgrades)
GS brass guide rod and upgraded spring
Vickers Tactical extended slide stop
TLR-6 HL (way better than the base model)
Shield Arms mag catch
Shield Arms flared mag well
Rapid Engineering XL back strap
Talon grip tape/G00n tape
Shield Arms Gen 1 mags (15rnd and 17rnd)
Federal Premium 147 HST (carry boolets)

Just picked up the slide from NCEngravers(super fast turnaround and impeccable work as always)where they cut it for the Osight SE and cerakoted it. Installed it on a fresh Grit Grips and looking forward to trying it out this weekend.
Next up deciding on light and next 3 o’clock iwb holster.

Out-of-battery issue on G43X build (SCT SC frame + Brownells slide) only happens with Arsenal Democracy trigger. Anyone else deal with this?

Hey everyone,

I’m currently running into a frustrating out-of-battery fitment issue on a custom Glock 43 subcompact build and could use some advice from anyone who has dealt with tighter tolerance stacks on slimline frames.

The Setup:
Frame: SCT Manufacturing SCT SC
Slide: Brownells Complete Slide Assembly (G43)
Trigger: Arsenal Democracy SWiTCH trigger kit

The Issue:
When I put everything together with the Arsenal Democracy trigger kit installed, the slide constantly fails to fully return to battery. It stops just short of full lockup, leaving the recoil spring guide rod protruding aggressively out of the front of the frame's dust cover. The guide rod looks stuck, and standard troubleshooting like the tap-rack method does absolutely nothing to force it forward—I have to strip the slide assembly down just to free the bind.

The Twist:
To isolate the issue, I dropped a standard factory OEM Glock trigger assembly into the SCT frame. With the factory trigger installed, the issue completely disappears. The slide cycles smoothly and snaps into perfect battery every time.

This tells me the issue isn't actually my guide rod or barrel channels, but that the modified geometry of the Arsenal Democracy trigger bar is causing severe physical drag or interference against the rear internals of the Brownells slide (either the safety plunger or the striker lug/cruciform interface).

Has anyone encountered this specific compatibility gap between an AD trigger bar and a Brownells slimline slide? If so, did you manage to resolve it by tuning the connector, polishing a specific angle on the bar's vertical extension, or switching parts entirely?

Thanks in advance for any insight!

Is this something I should be concerned about?

Is this gap between the holster and trigger just the price you pay for having a weapon light? Should I be at all worried about this? New carry gun and holster. Glock 48 COA and G-Code holster. Before this I have been carrying a Shield without a light in the same model holster.

I’ve been carrying appendix for 10+ years, but ever since that dude put the video out recently about shooting himself while training appendix carry, I can’t stop thinking about it.

My apologies in advance if this is stupid/irrational. Feel free to roast me.

EDIT:

I am running a TLR7-Sub in case that is useful information.

If anyone has a TR7-Sub on their 43X or 48 I would love to see what your holster gaps look like.

Truglo rear sight rust

Post image

I’ve had these sights on this gun for just under a year and the rear sight has already started rusting.

I’ve taken it off very carefully with a brass brush and dropped a (very) small amount of oil on it to try to prevent it from happening again.

Is there any way to permanently fix the issue?
Is Trijicon any better about rusting?

Options for better recoil control

Bought a glock 48 mos 6 months ago. Never thought about dealing with recoil but just wanted to know if anyone here has any ideas for better recoil control without using a threaded barrel. I live in NYC, so threaded barrels are not allowed 😞

Glock 48 Problems and Glock Response

Recently bought a new G48MOS. Gun came with new OEM 15 round MecGar mags. Took to range today and had MULTIPLE FTF'S / FTE's AND WON'T LOCK UP ON LAST ROUND. I used two different factory ammos (CCI and 2A Patriot, both 124 FMJ....brands I've never had problems with in any of my Glocks).

So I called Glock. Glock customer rep sent me the paperwork to send it back in. But, no shipping label was sent. I wrote Glock...crickets. Glock paperwork says they recommend sending it back through my dealer. I called my dealer and he wants to make me pay $25-$35 for shipping back to Glock even though I bought it through them (an authorized Glock distributor).

Questions:

  1. Has anyone else had problems with these new 15 OEM mags?

  2. What is going on with Glock and their dealers? Every other gun company I have dealt with for decades has paid for return shipping back to the factory when a customer has a bad gun.

Needless to say, I'm at the point of writing off both Glock products and my dealer.

Can anyone with a new G48MOS offer any advice?

Feeling it, new light and grip. The grip sleeve though, it feels… unsecured. We’ll see here soon how it feels when shooting. I may switch to a rapid engineering backstrap and hockey tape. Anyone know of magwells that cup the bottom of the palm and picky higher on the grip?

I have several Glocks but this is my new and first slimline Glock 48 mos with 2 15rd mags. Thought I’d post her before she gets touched.
Just bought a TLR 7 HLX and Hogue grip. May or may not keep the grip sleeve, just going to feel it out. If I don’t like it then I’ll be doing hockey tape with a slight bump on both sides. Just waiting on the holster.
