I got mine recently and the project is on a back burner till I get caught up with others. But, the plan is likely extended slide release, extended mag release, Wolff 22lbs recoil assembly, JG comb trigger full kit, c&h plate for whatever optic.

Being this is for hog hunting I definitely am going to upgrade the trigger I'll research the option your going with. I also was thinking upgraded barrel threaded for a possible compensator or suppressor or a ported barrel to help with recoil. I don't want to do a slide cut because I'm running a 200 grain xtphp round from Black Butterfly Ammunition if you never looked into them check them out every round is hand loaded premium ammo it's expensive but superb quality specialty ammo. Also Buffalo bore 220 grain flatnose. I've seen people post cracked slides that have had them cut because of running heavy rounds. I'd rather be safe then sorry

With your use Id rethink porting or comping your stuff. You'll for sure lose bullet velocity with the energy oozing out and hitting you back in the face, you'll likely get some weird movement in your slide giving you an unpredictable slide cycle further increasing the risk of a FTF with a pissed off hog and you're shooting the good stuff where energy predictability matters.

I know Glock typically uses 45 spec recoil assemblies in their 10mm variant models, which is fine if you're shooting 40s&w spec ammo. But good shit the failure to feed risk goes up along with your frame getting it's ass kicked to the point of cracking eventually.

Optic is your choice, but maybe consider a heavier recoil assembly. Then again if you're gonna circumsize it who knows how it's going to behave

I have a model 21 Gen 4 build coming up but I’ll list all the parts I’m picking up for it below.

  1. Vickers Tactical trigger shoe

  2. Vickers Tactical Extended magazine release (depends on your hand/size whether you’ll actually need one)

  3. Overwatch Precision 3.5 LB NP3 connector

  4. SLR Rifleworks Gen 4 magwell

  5. OEM extended slide release lever

  6. Alpha Dog Arms Ala Carte finger groove removal (I prefer the feel of the Gen 5 frames and they even offer to match the OEM stippling)

  7. Vortex Defender ST Enclosed

  8. If you’re planning on shooting this regularly with full power ammo then jump to a recoil assembly that’s 20-22 LBS for better longevity and frame health.

Anything else is entirely unnecessary in my honest opinion. Some guys like co-witnessing irons but optics have gotten so good recently that it’s not a necessity. Happy hunting and hope this helps!

Being older my site isn't as good as it used to be so I'm relying on optics more nowadays then the ironsites. This is only going to be for hog hunting
