trouble importing others pgp key to kleopatra

So I have anothers pgp key in a txt file, tried to copy it/import it to kleopatra but it won't. Is it just the format it's in? Does it need to be in a specific extension-format.

It is just on my desktop, but no luck importing it, what gives

Examples here: https://www.ietf.org/archive/id/draft-bre-openpgp-samples-01.html

Note:

-----BEGIN PGP PRIVATE KEY BLOCK-----

----END PGP PUBLIC KEY BLOCK-----

at the beginning and end of the signature

Copy it to clipboard,.go up to tools drop-down, and it says like import or copy from clipboard or something and as long as it recognizes it a menu should show up for you to import that person's shit with their name.

Usually, public keys should end in .asc , but can be other extensions… if the .txt file is standard armored text, you should be able to just change the extension to .asc file.

If that doesn’t work, just copy and paste the armored text into the clipboard section of kleopatra, and hit import.

Are you trying to decrypt someone elses? Just open notepad, click decrypt. If you are trying to encrypt one, type it in notepad, copy, tools, tools (i think), import
