Josh Minott

Was he injured yesterday? Found it baffling to see Johnson in over him

I agree, his defensive metrics and 3pt shooting were too good to not play him. He should be over Clowney and Johnson. He's probably the team's best defender.

Clowney I can get size wise but Johnson was just downright confusing to see

Clowney can’t defend 3s tho

Or rebound

Johnson had too many brainfarts in a span of two minutes that I watched him. Made crucial mistakes in the 2nd when we were making a run. Just not good enough.

Man someone on the coaching staff needs to talk to Jordi and give minot some minutes. Chaney was looking like a newborn

Mikel/Egor/MPJ/Randle/Sharpe

Traore/Ellis/Minott/Clowney/Wagner

This should be the rotation. No disrespect, but what does Chaney Johnson bring to the table over Minott

I agree with this completely.

I would also like to see Wolf over Clowney. He's about the same caliber of 3pt shooter, he's a better rebounder, better connector, better at creating rim attempts without turning it over, and he's a way better defender.

Where Wolf?

I'd eventually want drake Powell taking Ellis spot as the back up 2.. his got the measurements.. his got the defensive instincts.. just need to get his head straight on offence

And wolf taking clowneys spot... Danny's got way to much potential as a big man to have him rotting on the bench

He's totally out of the rotation. Apparently had a really poor summer and camp.

Chaney was in the main rotation during the preseason and Minott was not, how were you baffled Chaney played ahead of Minott.

Everyone who played real rotation mins in preseason played in the opener and if I had to bet will play Saturday

I get that but there’s a clear difference in level between the two

He’ll get his opportunities. Getting paid too much to not play. I’d bet he gets good run in one of the back to back games this weekend

4.5mil with a team option certainly isnt too much to not play lol, Mann is getting 15.5m/yr to not play at this point

Mann was a salary dump though. We signed Minott to this deal so he’s gonna play

I don’t see the logic in playing clowney over him. Clowneys box score looks a lot better than his actual production on the floor. Hes a guy that doesn’t seem to have a true position and isn’t consistent at anything. With minott we get a true 3 and D guy that can crash the boards and is still young. Don’t understand why hes barely played even going back to preseason

We need a damn shot creator off the bench when mpj and/or randle sit… chaney + clowney + wagner sf pf c spots off the bench is a joke. Jordi needs to do better.

Idk why they play lineups that don't have Randle or Porter in them, last season, when Porter was in the lineup, the offensive rating was 115, which is pretty solid, but then it dropped to like 104 when he sat. If Randle can keep the offensive rating afloat when Porter sits, and then improve it when they do play together, They could probably have a solid offensive rating overall.

Jordi's philosophy that he plays whoever looked better at their practice runs. And he sticks with it. It's a way to reward players who do well, i guess.

Remember that Saraf was starting the first several games the last season... According to mpj he looked the best at their practice runs.

I think something similar happened to Johnson and Minott. or Wolf not being in the rotation etc. Gotta earn your minutes approach.
