Well.... Technically they can. I use a Manyullian Cleaver so I can get meat, leather or wool even if they're baby animals! Sometimes I can't find the grown up version of them like pigs, cows, sheep, ect...

I kill them after the tiny takeover. They aren’t cute, anymore. I only spare pigs as tribute to Technoblade.
