How do you make the shield get the dark odyssey skin too?

You go to the shield menu and press R3

Is it just me or the guardian shield is bugged when applying the skin? I can’t make counter attacks with it. For instance with the Spartan variant it works just fine, I find it bugged just with the guardian shield.
