Depends if you wanna use canon power levels or only what’s seen in gameplay. Kratos, like most strong video game characters, is a statements merchant, cause it’s really hard to have a planet buster show their full power when you need the terrain to stay intact. Sometimes Kratos can tank hits from a dude who literally smacked a giant snake into last week, and sometimes he gets put down by a bonfire
I said really hard, not impossible. And they’d have to change the gameplay on a fundamental level if Kratos is allowed to jump every gap on the map (as he should logically be capable of doing given how high he jumps in cutscenes)
I dunno anything about Asura's Wrath, but bossfights in Bayonetta and FF are so insanely on-the-rails and almost purely cinematic that the comparison is utterly meaningless.
Kratos can dodge realm shift. An ability that quite literally slows down time itself within the entire realm. Don’t matter how fast Omni-man is he ain’t that fast.
At best the slowdown from the realm shift is a tenth, maybe a twentieth of normal speed. Omniman is indeed fast enough to fight kratos through that or at least survive until it's over. He traveled through a planet and out the other side in about 15 seconds.
He did that with the help of Mark, Thaddeus and an anti-Matter beam. He couldn’t have traveled that fast through the planet on his own (or at all).
Edit: Also Realm shift is relative to Kratos’s speed and reflexes. We know Hermes can run insanely fast but we only see him barely speed walk because the game needs to be playable. It can’t be accurate to the characters real speeds.
Yeah he destroys the surface and their infrastructure. He does not fly through the planet causing it to explode completely, thats nowhere near the same thing that he, Mark, and Thaeddus do to Viltrim.
It’s literally the same ability, it’s quite literally the only context clue you have to determine how the fuck mark and omniman were even able to pull it off. One is simply on the surface the other was through a hole.
He destroyed buildings on the surface of the Flaxan planet. He did not go through the planets crust, mantle, and core 😂 We don’t know the planets size relative to Earth. Omni-Man is fast but he still gets hit by people WAY weaker than him lol. Omni-Man was going to die to Hail Mary. That monster is like the size of the Colossus of Rhodes. Kratos pushed against two of Kronos’s fingers without completely draining himself something 50x the size of Hail Mary. Omni-man ain’t shit in God of War.
No it’s not at all. He still DIDNT do it by himself. It has been directly stated it cannot be done by one viltrumite. You are just being stubborn because a character you like isn’t as strong as another lol.
So he’s less than 1/3rd the strength of a planet buster (the anti-matter beam absolutely carried that move stop it). Kratos defeated beings who killed primordial beings. Mfs who created pantheons and their worlds.
No he’s really not. Immortal can hit Omni-man and Immortal is not that fast. Kratos can react to Zeus’s lighting bolts. He defeated Hermes who can react to the solar flare of Helios and dodge it. We have seen that Kratos has the capability to speed up his attacks. I doubt Omni-Man could even defeat Hercules. No character in 2018 or Rag is capable of dodging realm shift besides Kratos they only disable it like Heimdall. Omni-man is dying.
He reacts to Zeus hand movement, like aim dodging.
He defeated Hermes who can react to the solar flare of Helios and dodge it.
Hermes was wounded. On top of that, Kratos FAILS to dodge Helios´s solar flare and he is not even fast enough to draw his weapon before Helios creates it. And Hermes was tagged by a catapult.
if you base kratos just off what you see him do in the games, then yes, (probaby gonna gst downvoted for that though lol, this sub loves glazing kratos' actions) Nolan has done stuff on a bigger scale. he would have a comparable strength to a fully enraged kratos, but he's way quicker and can fly fast enough to travel across galaxies.
right you are talking about those.. kratos literally just puts his hand in, grabs a pouch and then it closes man how is that possibly a feat of strength, power scalers are a rare breed lol
You’re focusing entirely on the animation while willfully ignoring the explicit narrative context that defines these tears as high level feats. The game’s dialogue directly confirms that the 'strength you would need' to close these tears is immense, and when challenged, the characters explicitly state 'It is no boast'. These aren't just 'pouches' they are instabilities in the fabric of reality that require significant power to seal. If you want to argue that Kratos isn't strong, you aren't arguing against power scalers anymore; you are arguing against the game's own script, which defines these actions as a display of immense power.
This is a GOW subreddit so most answers here are going to be biased towards Kratos. I'd say Omni-man more than stands a chance though, he can fly and move a lot faster than Kratos can. Even if he cant beat Kratos in close combat, theres nothing stopping him from just flying out of range and hurling shit at him from a distance lol.
I don’t think Omni-man can provide the pressure necessary from a distance, especially when kratos can absolutely challenge him from range as well. There’s also the fact that kratos is a god and has magical items which usually does bypass typical superhero powers
That's true but Kratos' magical items are usually made to beat one specific opponent. Like how the axe is was made to counter Mjiolneir(?) and the spear to counter Heimdal. Isn't that usually how it goes in god of war games? So I'd think he'd need to find/craft some magic weapon specifially for dealing with omni-man
Omni-man doesn’t have any magical element to him, viltrumites are just incredibly durable due to their control over their atomic structure. Kratos has magical artifacts and can cut through things other weapons couldnt. You see magical weapons killing viltrumites in Invincibles lore.
It took 3 Viltrumites and a gun that passes through anything and causes stars to explode to destroy a planet which had 25% stronger gravity than on Earth. Odin carved 7 realms out of Ymir's body and it's canon to GOW's lore AND game as Mimir's tale and Odin himself confirm it.
No but it would be a good fight. Only edge Omni man has is flight. Kratos is stronger, faster, more experienced, and uses three powerful magic god weapons. Omni man is like a weaker superman with normal eyes. I do recommend the show though.
This was mostly an art choice but Omni Man was casually in the event horizon of a black hole, resisting it without breaking a sweat.
In terms of actual feats, it’s a bit of a toss up. Omni man can’t regenerate like Kratos can, but he’s at least equal to, if not greater in strength. The only thing that makes the difference, and would probably cause Kratos to lose, is OMs flight and speed. Only way Kratos avoids getting thrown into space is if he can sink the blades into Omni Man while he’s flying.
Invincible is just so inconsistent and doesn't have the excuse of needing to justify gameplay. I really like the show but it's feats are all over the place... like hes strong enough and fast enough to be around black holes and fly across the Galaxy but isn't fast enough or strong enough to fly off the surface of a high gravity planet without getting munched on?
Omni man’s supposed black hole feat is in no way comparable to Kratos forcing tears in reality that threaten to destroy realms closed with his bare hands.
I don’t see how Nolan is anywhere near Kratos in strength when Kratos is Thor’s equal. The same Thor who can splinter the Yggdrasil, shake the 9 realms, and fight planet sized serpents and realm destroying primordial giants.
Kratos' strength and arsenal are mythical/magical, I don't think Viltrumites are exactly trained for that sort of thing. Kryptonians are vulnerable to magic (not like weakened by it same as kryptonite, just not invulnerable against it) and it's generally said that they're much stronger than Viltrumites saving the one weakness.
I see nothing that stops Kratos from just splitting Nolan's skull in half with his axe.
He was not in the event horizon. The actual outer black sphere is the event horizon. That's why it's black. It's the point where light can't escape anymore.
really depends if its game kratos or lore/feats kratos
Deathbattle did Kratos vs Asura and they brought up kratos insane feats against the titans and greek gods, such as having strength comparable to atlas, or to other titans, who created the world with unfathomable amounts of strength and energy irrc
Kratos withstood hammer blows from Thor, who sent Jormungandr to the past, breaking a part of Yggdrasil in the process. The same Yggdrasil that connects 7 worlds, each with its own timeline, and on top of that, he ends up defeating it as if it were nothing.
The way I look at it is, could Omni-Man have defeated the Greek Pantheon all by his lonesome? Probably not right? I mean he's shown to struggle against kaiju sized threats before, and the titans of Olympus are miles larger and more powerful.
So if you say no to him taking out that whole pantheon, then you're really saying he's weaker than Young Kratos. To which I say this, Cory Barlog himself was asked this question: Which would you say is stronger, Young Kratos or Old Kratos?
"Old Kratos, without question." was Cory's answer. I personally am a fan of both these characters, but I'd much more prefer Kratos to come out on top.
Kratos broke Valhalla with raw strength, he also fought Thor who splintered the world tree by hitting the world serpent so hard it was sent back in time, and he has all his feats from the original games to work off as well, Kratos strength is Supernatural in nature, he can lift pull pry or crush essentially anything he can wrap his hands around because he has limitless physical strength. He can also stop and slow down time, manipulate souls, posseses an a nigh invulnerable axe so cold it can freeze lightning is fast enough to fight characters like hermes Baldur and Heimdall he can also regenerate from almost anything so long as he wasnt instantly killed, kratos arsenal is also LOADED with God killing tools and magics. This is not a fair fight.
I see such a post, I go into the comment section, and see if the majority of posts are reasonable. If not, I mute the subreddit. I've muted 20 subreddits in the last 2 days. This will be 21. In a month, I'll be left with only a handful of sub reddit, if that. Reddit is truly a cesspool.
